haha FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 8-72 EAS30670 DIAGNOSTIC CODE TABLE TIP The following tables contain information about diagnostic code numbers t\ hat do not have a correspond- ing fault code number. (These items are not listed in “TROUBLESHOOTING DETAILS ”.) 1 Connection of multi-function meter coupler. Check the locking condition of the coupler. Disconnect the coupler and check the pins (bent or bro- ken terminals and locking condition of the pins). Improperly connected Connect the coupler secure- ly or repair/replace the wire harness. Set the main switch to “ON ”. Fault code number is not dis- played Service is finished. Fault code number is dis- played Go to item 2. 2 Connection of wire harness ECU coupler. Check the locking condition of the coupler. Disconnect the coupler and check the pins (bent or bro- ken terminals and locking condition of the pins). haha FUEL PUMP SYSTEM 8-77 EAS27570 TROUBLESHOOTING If the fuel pump fails to operate. TIP Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s): 1. Right side cowling 2. Right side panel 3. Fuel tank NG OK NG OK NG OK NG OK NG OK NG OK NG OK 1. Check the fuses. (Main, ignition and fuel injection system) Refer to “ CHECKING THE FUS- ES” on page 8-131. Replace the fuse(s). 2. Check the battery. Refer to “ CHECKING AND CHARGING THE BATTERY ” on page 8-132. Clean the battery terminals. Recharge or replace the battery. 3. Check the main switch. Refer to “ CHECKING THE SWITCHES” on page 8-127. Replace the main switch unit. 4. Check the engine stop switch. Refer to “ CHECKING THE SWITCHES” on page 8-127. The engine stop switch is faulty. Replace the right handlebar switch. 5. Check the relay unit (fuel pump re- lay). Refer to “ CHECKING THE RE- LAYS ” on page 8-135. Replace the relay unit. 6. Check the fuel pump. Refer to “ CHECKING THE FUEL PUMP BODY ” on page 7-4. Replace the fuel pump assembly. 7. Check the entire fuel pump system wiring. Refer to “ CIRCUIT DIAGRAM” on page 8-75. Properly connect or repair the fuel pump system wiring. Replace the ECU.
