Machine Setup
Use the following instructions to customize your machine to meet your individual 
requirements.
¾Press [Menu/Exit] to exit each menu level and return to standby mode.

Machine Setup Options
OPTIONSETTINGSDESCRIPTION
Tray 1 SizeLTR / A4 / LGL / FolioUse to set the default paper size for Tray 1. 
Paper Size options are Letter, A4, Legal (216 x 
356 mm / 8.5 x 14 inch) or Folio.
Tray 2 SizeLTR / A4 / LGL / FolioUse to set the default paper size for Tray 2. 
Paper Size options are Letter, A4, Legal (216 x 
356 mm / 8.5 x 14 inch) or Folio.
Bypass SizeLTR / A4 / LGL / Folio / 
A5 / StatementUse to set the default paper size for the Bypass 
tray. Paper Size options are Letter, A4, Legal 
(216 x 356 mm / 8.5 x 14 inch), Folio, A5 or 
Statement.
LIf feeding media smaller than A4/Letter through 
the bypass tray, the setting can remain set at 
A4, Letter or Legal size.
When copying onto a paper size smaller than 
A4/Letter, the printed image may be offset and 
not reproduce correctly, even when Auto Fit is 
selected.
Power SaveOnUse to enable the Power Save feature. If On is 
selected, set the period of time the machine 
waits before Power Save is activated. Choose 
between 5, 10, 15, 30 or 45 minutes.
Off
Time Out15 / 30 / 60 / 180 
SecondsSets the number of seconds the machine 
remains idle before the current job settings are 
reset back to the default settings. Use Off to 
deactivate the option.
Off
Stamp RX NameOnSet to On to enable sender information, the 
machine ID, the page number, the date and time 
of reception and the reduction rate of the image 
to be printed on each page of each received 
transmission. The information is printed on the 
bottom edge of each page.
Off
Alarm SoundOnSet to On to enable an alarm sound when an 
error occurs or a fax communication ends.

Key SoundOnSet to On to enable a sound when any key is 
pressed.

Speaker ControlOnThe speaker can be set to On, Off or Comm. 
Comm allows the speaker to remain on until the 
remote machine answers.

USB implementation in the default mode. If this 
occurs, select Slow.

Machine IDFaxUse to enter the fax number and name of the 
machine.
Name
Date & TimeEnter the current date and time using the 
Numeric Keypad. Use Clock Mode to set 
whether the machine uses a 12 or 24 hour 
clock.

Clock Mode12 hourThe machine can be configured to display time 
using either a 12-hour or 24-hour format.
24 hour
Toner SaveOnIf On, the machine produces a lower quality 
output to reduce toner consumption. Useful if 
your machine is used for internal documents 
only.
Off
Discard Size[00 - 30]If the Fax Setup option Auto Reduction is set to 
Off, and the received document is as long or 
longer than the paper selected, the machine will 
discard any excess image from the bottom of 
the page that is longer than the selected length.
If the received page is outside the discard 
margin set, it will print on two sheets of paper at 
the actual size. Margins can be set between 0 - 
30mm (1.2).

Reports
Various Reports are available to assist in confirming and monitoring machine activity. Reports 
can be set up to include specific information, or to print automatically.
Reports Available
REPORTDESCRIPTION
Fax PhonebookThis list contains all the numbers currently stored in the machine’s 
fax phonebook as Speed Dial and Group Dial numbers.
Fax TXThis report contains information about recent transmission 
activities.
Fax RXThis report contains information about recent reception activities.
System DataThis report shows the status of the user-selectable options. After 
settings are changed, print this list to confirm your changes.
Scheduled JobsThis list identifies the documents currently stored for Delay Send, 
Priority Send, Group Dial and TX Poll operations. This list shows 
the starting time and type of operation.
Fax TX ConfirmThis list shows a list of confirmed fax transmissions.
E-mail TX ReportThis report shows the status of E-mail transmissions.
Help ListThis list shows the machine’s basic functions and commands to 
use as a quick reference guide.
Junk Fax ListThis list shows the fax numbers defined as junk fax numbers by 
using the Junk Fax Setup menu.
Billing CountersThis report lists the billing counters and their current amounts.
Connect PageProvides connection information for the E-mail function.
User Auth ListProvides User Authentication information for the E-mail function.
Print All ReportsUse this option to print all the available reports.

Printing Reports
Use the following instructions to print a report.

ControlCentre
ControlCentre is software available for the WorkCentre M20i which enables Fax options and 
features to be setup and viewed remotely using a PC.
After setting up Fax options or creating phonebooks, simply click [Apply] on the ControlCentre 
screen to download the new settings to the machine.
Installing ControlCentre
When Xerox WorkCentre M20i software is installed the ControlCentre utility is installed 
automatically.
)For information on installing refer to “Maintenance Tools” on page 9-25.
Running ControlCentre
Use the following instructions to run ControlCentre:
¾Start the  Windows software.
¾From Programs select [Xerox WC M20 Series], then [ControlCentre].
The ControlCentre screen displays.

Using ControlCentre
The ControlCentre software provides five tabs:
- Settings
- Advanced
- Phonebook
- Information
- Firmware Update
- Printer
-PCL
- Flash Font and Macro
- PostScript
To  e x i t  ControlCentre, click the [Exit] key in the bottom of each tab screen.
For further details, click the [Help] key in the bottom of each tab screen.
)When the settings on ControlCentre are changed, or when ControlCentre is run, the settings on 
the machine and on ControlCentre will be automatically updated to the latest settings made 
either on the machine or on ControlCentre.

Settings Tab
Click on the [Settings] tab to configure Fax settings.
Advanced Tab
Click on the [Advanced] tab to change the Machine Setup options applicable to Fax. 
Reads the current 
settings in the 
WorkCentre M20i then 
refreshes 
ControlCentre with the 
machine’s current 
settings.
Downloads the 
settings made in
