158 7. Maintenance This c\fmpletes the lamp \beplacement. G\f \fn t\f the filte\b \beplacement. NOTE: When y\bu c\bntinue t\b use the pr\bject\br f\br an\bther 100 h\burs after the lamp has reached the end \bf its life, the pr\bject\br cann\bt turn \bn and \ythe menu is n\bt dis\yplayed. If this happens, pre\yss the Help butt\bn \y\bn the rem\bte c\bntr\b\yl f\br 10 sec\bnds t\b \yreset the lamp cl\bc\yk back t\b zer\b. When the lamp time \ycl\bck is reset t\b z\yer\b, the Lamp indic\yat\br g\bes \but. 4. Reattach the la\fp cover. (1) Inse\ft the top edge o\b the lamp cove\f into the g\foove in the p\fojecto\f and close the lamp cove\f. (2) Tighten the sc\few to secu\fe the lamp cove\f. • Be su\fe to tighten the sc\few. 3. Install a new la\fp housing. (1) Inse\ft a new lamp housing until the lamp housing is plugged into the socket. (2) Position so that the guide hole in the bottom \fight o\b the lamp house is ove\f the p\fot\fusion on the p\fojecto\f then p\fess all the way in. (3) Secu\fe it in place with the two sc\fews. • Be su\fe to tighten the sc\fews.

Honeycomb filte\f (coa\fse mesh): La\fge and small sizes (attached to the outside o\b the filte\f unit) Acco\fdion filte\f (fine mesh): La\fge and small sizes (attached to the inside o\b the filte\f unit) NOTE: • Replace all f\bur fil\yters at the same t\yime. • Bef\bre replacing the\y filters, wipe \bff d\yust and dirt fr\bm t\yhe pr\bject\br cabinet\y. • The pr\bject\br is pre\ycisi\bn equipment. K\yeep \but dust and di\yrt during filter rep\ylacement. • D\b n\bt wash the filt\yers with s\bap and w\yater. S\bap and water wi\yll damage the filter\y membrane. • Put filters int\b pla\yce. Inc\brrect attac\yhment \bf a filter ma\yy cause dust and di\yrt t\b get int\b the i\ynside \bf the pr\bject\y\br. Be\bo\fe \feplacing the filte\fs, \feplace the lamp. (→ page 156) 1. Push up the \buttons on the left and right to release the filter unit and pull it out. 2. Re\fove the filter unit \by pulling out the ta\b. 3. Re\fove the four filters. Re\fove dust fro\f the filter unit and the filter cover. Clea\b both outside a\bd \ei\bside. 5. Attach four new filters to the filter unit. (1) I\bsert the hard ho\bey\fomb filters i\bto the tips of the fla\bges at the \fe\bter, the\b be\bd the filters a\bd push them i\b u\bder the hooks. - The filters \fa\b\bot be i\bserted from the outside. (2) Tur\b the filter u\bit over. Mou\bt the a\f\fordio\b filters u\bder the fla\bges alo\bg the outer edges. • Ea\fh a\f\fordio\b filter has slits i\b it. Alig\b the slits with\e the protrusio\bs o\b the filter u\bit. 6. Mount the filter unit \back onto the projector ca\binet. I\bsert the filter u\bit o\bto the proje\ftor with the sides o\b \ewhi\fh the left a\bd right hooks are lo\fated o\b the outside. 7. Mount the filter cover \back onto the projector ca\binet. I\bsert the 4 \fat\fhes o\b the top of the filter \fover i\bto the grooves i\b the proje\ftor, the\b press the left a\bd right butto\bs to \flose. This c\fmpletes the filte\b \beplacement. G\f \fn t\f the clea\bing lamp and filte\b h\fu\b mete\bs. T\f clea\b the lamp usage h\fu\bs and the filte\b usage h\fu\bs: 1. Place the projector where you use it. 2. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet, and then turn on the projector. 3. Clear the la\fp usage hours and the filter usage hours. 1. From the me\bu, sele\ft [RESET] → [CLEAR LAMP HOURS] a\bd reset the lamp usage hours. 2. Sele\ft [CLEAR FILTER HOURS].a\bd reset the filter usage hours. (→ page 114)

NOTE: • T\b install \br uninstall each s\bftware pr\bgram, the Wind\bws user acc\bunt must ha\fe “Administrat\br” pri\filege (Wind\bws 7, Win- d\bws Vista) \br “C\bmp\yuter Administrat\br” \ypri\filege (Wind\bws X\yP). • Exit all running pr\y\bgrams bef\bre instal\ylati\bn. If an\bther \ypr\bgram is running, \ythe installati\bn ma\yy n\bt be c\bmpleted. • Ad\fanced Netw\brk Uti\ylity will be instal\yled t\b the system d\yri\fe \bf y\bur c\bmputer. If the message “There is n\bt en\bugh free space \bn destinati\bn” is displayed, free up en\bugh space (ab\but 100 MB) t\b install the pr\bgram. 1 Insert the acco\fpanying CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. The me\bu wi\bdow will be displayed. TIP: If the menu wind\bw \ywill n\bt be displaye\yd, try the f\bll\bwing pr\bce\ydure. F\br Wind\bws 7 1. Click “Start” on Windows. 2. Click “All Progra\fs” → “Accessories” → “Run”. 3. Type your CD-ROM drive na\fe (exa\fple: “Q:\”) and “LAUNCHER.EXE” in “Na\fe”. (exa\fple: Q:\LAUNCHER. EXE) 4. Click “OK”. The me\bu wi\bdow will be displayed.

TIP: Uninstalling a S\fftwa\be P\b\fg\bam P\bepa\bati\fn: Exit the so\btwa\fe p\fog\fam be\bo\fe uninstalling. To uninstall the so\btwa\fe p\fog\fam, the Windows use\f account must have “Administ\fato\f” p\fivilege (Windows 7 and Windows Vista) o\f “Compute\f Administ\fato\f” p\fivilege (Windows XP). • F\f\b Wind\fws 7/Wind\fws Vista 1 Click “Start” and then “Control Panel”. The Co\btrol Pa\bel wi\bdow will be displayed. 2 Click “Uninstall a progra\f” under “Progra\fs” The “Programs a\bd Features” wi\bdow will be displayed. 3 Select the software progra\f and click it. 4 Click “Uninstall/Change” or “Uninstall”. • Whe\b the “User A\f\fou\bt Co\btrol” wi\bdows is displayed, \fli\fk “Co\bti\bue”. Follow the i\bstru\ftio\bs o\b\e the s\free\bs to \fomplete the u\bi\bstallatio\b. • F\f\b Wind\fws XP 1 Click “start” and then “Control Panel”. The Co\btrol Pa\bel wi\bdow will be displayed. 2 Dou\ble-click “Add or Re\fove Progra\fs”. The Add or Remove Programs wi\bdow will be displayed. 3 Click the software progra\f fro\f the list and then click “Re\fove”. Follow the i\bstru\ftio\bs o\b\e the s\free\bs to \fomplete the u\bi\bstallatio\b.

The “Adva\b\fed Network Utility 2” folder will be displayed. 5 Move the “Advanced Network Utility 2” folder to “Applications” folder using a drag-and-drop operation. TIP: • Uninstalling a s\fftwa\be p\b\fg\bam 1. Put the “Advanced Network Utility 2” folder to the Trash icon. 2. Put the configuration file of Advanced Network Utility to the Trash icon. • The \fo\bfiguratio\b file of Adva\b\fed Network Utility is lo\fated i\b “/Users/your user \bame/Library/Prefere\b\fes/ jp.\fo.Ri\foh.Adva\b\fed Network Utility.plist”.

User Su\f\fortware 2 Projecting Images or Videos from the Projector over a LAN (Advanced Network Ut\uility) What you can do with\u Advanced Network Ut\uility • Using Advanced Netwo\fk Utility allows you to send the sc\feens o\b you\f compute\fs to the p\fojecto\f via wi\fed/wi\fe- less LAN. When “Meeting Mode” is used, p\fojected images can be sent and \feceived between two o\f mo\fe compute\fs. • High-speed, high-quality image t\bansmissi\fns based \fn\v c\fmp\bessi\fn techn\fl\fgy ad\fpti\fn Comp\fession technology adoption allows high-quality images to be sent ove\f the netwo\fk at high speed, \b\fom you\f compute\f to the p\fojecto\f. • Simultane\fus p\b\fjecti\fn by multiple p\b\fject\f\bs Images can be sent \b\fom a compute\f to not only one p\fojecto\f but also to two o\f mo\fe p\fojecto\fs at the same time. • “Easy C\fnnecti\fn” functi\fn f\f\b c\fnnecting wi\beless LAN By using “Easy Connection” \bunction* 1, the complicated setting o\b wi\feless LAN can be simplified. * 1 This \bunction can be used when Windows XP is used as the OS and when you have a “Compute\f Administ\fato\f” p\fivilege. I\b the OS is Windows 7/Windows Vista, input o\b logon passwo\fd as “Administ\fato\f” may be p\fompted.

When “Meeting Mode” is used, p\fojected images can be sent to the compute\fs o\b all the pa\fticipants (attendants) o\b a “Meeting”. The \feceived images can be saved to you\f compute\f with a memo (text data) attached. Attendant Attendant Attendant P\fesente\f • 1-click switching \ff p\besente\b When switching to anothe\f p\fesente\f du\fing the con\be\fence, the pa\fticipants (attendants) can simply click a button to switch ove\f to the new p\fesente\f. • Cent\bal management \ff the p\b\fjecting c\fmpute\b Using the T\faining Mode allows you to use a single compute\f (Manage\f) to manage which compute\f (Attendant) p\fojects. Connecting the \frojector to a LAN Connect the p\fojecto\f to the LAN by \bollowing the inst\fuctions in "Connecting to a Wi\fed LAN" (→ page 147), "Connect- ing to a Wi\feless LAN (sold sepa\fately)" ( → page 148 ) and " 9 Application Menu" - "NETWORK SETTINGS" ( → page 117 )

(1) T\fans\be\f\fing images to the p\fojecto\f (2) Holding a con\be\fence (3) Pa\fticipating in a con\be\fence Sending Images t\f P\b\fject\f\b • Connecting p\fojecto\f 1 Turn on the power to the projector for which LAN has \been set. 2 Click Windows [Start] → [All Progra\fs] → [Ricoh Projector User Supportware] → [Advanced Network Util- ity] → [Advanced Network Utility], in that order. The “Sele\ftio\b Of Network Co\b\be\ftio\bs” wi\bdow will be displayed. A list of the \betwork equipme\bt \fo\b\be\fted to your \fomputer will be displayed. 3 Select the network equip\fent that is to \be used and click [OK]. Sele\ft the \betwork devi\fe displayi\bg “Easy Co\b\be\ftio\b” if the produ\ft LAN setti\bg is for “Easy Co\b\be\ftio\b.” This will \fall up the “Proje\ftor List” wi\bdow. 4 Check( ) the projector to connect and click [Connect]. If the \bame of the pr\eoje\ftor to \fo\b\be\ft is \bot o\b th\ee list or if it is \ehidde\b, \fli\fk [Update]. The s\free\b of your \fomputer will be proje\fted from the proje\ftor. At this time, the i\bput sig\bal of \ethe proje\ftor will automati\fally \fha\bge to “NETWORK”. • T\fans\be\f\fing images When you\f compute\f is connected to the p\fojecto\f, the sc\feen o\b the compute\f is p\fojected \b\fom the p\fojecto\f as is. To make you\f p\fesentation by using a Powe\fPoint file, open the Powe\fPoint file and sta\ft you\f p\fesentation.

A pop-up me\bu will b\ee displayed. 2 Click [Stop Sending]. The proje\ftor i\fo\b o\b the taskbar will \fha\bge ( → ). NOTE: E\fen if the screen \y\bf the c\bmputer is c\yhanged in this stat\yus, the image pr\bjec\yted fr\bm the pr\bject\y\br d\bes n\bt change. T\b manipulate the sc\yreen that sh\buld n\b\yt be discl\bsed (pr\bj\yected fr\bm the pr\bje\yct\br), st\bp transmis\ysi\bn. 3 Click the projector icon ( ) on the Windows task\bar. A pop-up me\bu will b\ee displayed. 4 Click [Start Sending]. The proje\ftor i\fo\b o\b the taskbar will \fha\bge ( → ). The tra\bsmissio\b of the s\free\b for the \fomputer will be resumed, a\bd the \furre\bt s\free\b of the \fomputer will be proje\fted from the proje\ftor. • End the t\fansmission o\b images Exit Advanced Netwo\fk Utility. 1 Click the projector icon ( ) on the Windows task\bar. A pop-up me\bu will b\ee displayed. 2 Click [Exit].
