    6. Connecting to O\uther Equi\fment
    1 Mounting a lens (s\uold se\farately)
    Five	sepa\fate	 bayonet	style	lenses	 can	be	used	 with	this	p\fojecto\f. 	The	 desc\fiptions	 he\fe	a\fe	\bo\f	the	 PJ	Standa\fd	 Lens	
    Type1	(2x	zoom)	lens. 	Mount	othe\f	lenses	in	the	same	manne\f.
    NOTE:
    •  The pr\bject\br and le\ynses are made \bf pr\yecisi\bn parts. D\b n\b\yt subject them t\b s\yh\bck \br excessi\fe f\b\yrces.
    •  Rem\b\fe the separately s\bld lens when m\b\fing the pr\bject\br. If n\bt, the lens c\buld be subject t\b sh\bck while the pr\bject\br is being 
    m\b\fed, damaging the \ylens and the lens \yshift mechanism.
    •  Turn \bff the p\bwer an\yd wait f\br the c\b\bli\yng fan t\b st\bp bef\bre\y m\bunting \br rem\b\fing\y the lens.
    •  Ne\fer t\buch the len\ys surface while the pr\bj\yect\br is \bperating.
    •  Be \fery careful n\bt t\b let\y dirt, grease, etc.\y, \bn the lens surface and n\bt t\b scr\yatch the lens surface.
    •  Perf\brm these \bperati\bn\ys \bn a flat surface \b\fer a piece \bf\y cl\bth, etc., t\b pre\y\fent the lens fr\bm \ygetting scratched.
    •  When lea\fing the lens \bff the pr\bject\br f\br l\bng peri\bds \bf time, m\bunt the dust cap \bn the pr\bject\br t\b pre\fent dust \br dirt fr\bm 
    getting inside.
    •  If y\bu ha\fe multiple\y pr\bject\brs, be care\yful \bf the f\bll\bwing\y:
    - Other types \bf lense\ys cann\bt be m\bunted\y \bn this pr\bject\br.
    Mounting the lens
    1.	Re\fove	the	dust	cap	fro\f	the	projector.
    2. 	Re\fove	the	lens	cap	on	the	\back	of	the	lens.
    3.	Insert	 the	lens	 onto	 the	projector	 with	the	yellow-\farked	
    protrusion	on	the	lens	facing	upwards.
      There is a positio\bi\bg slit o\b the proje\ftor’s le\bs i\bsertio\b slot. 
    I\bsert the le\bs slowly all the way i\b, keepi\bg the positio\bi\bg 
    slit at the same a\bgle.\eGuidi\bg \bot\fh

    4.	Turn	the	lens	clockwise.
      Tur\b u\btil a \fli\fk is heard.
      The le\bs is \bow faste\bed o\bto the proje\ftor.
    TIP: M\bunting the l\yens theft pre\fenti\bn\y screw
    Fasten  the  lens  theft  pre\fenti\bn  screw  included  with  the  pr\bject\br  t\b 
    the b\btt\bm \bf the pr\y\bject\br s\b that the \ylens cann\bt be rem\b\y\fed easily.
    Removing the lens
    1.	 While 	pressing 	the 	Lens 	Release 	\button 	on 	the	
    p ro j e c to r ’s 	f ro n t 	p a n e l 	f u l l y 	i n , 	tu rn 	t h e 	l e n s	
    counterclockwise.
      The le\bs \fomes off.
    NOTE:  If  the  lens  cann\bt  be  rem\b\fed  when  the  Lens  Release 
    butt\bn is pressed, check whether the lens theft pre\fenti\bn screw 
    is m\bunted.
    2.	 Slowly	pull	the	lens	off	the	projector. - After removi\bg the le\bs, mou\bt the le\bs \faps (fro\bt 
    a\bd ba\fk) i\b\fluded with the le\bs before stori\bg the 
    le\bs.
    -  If  \bo  le\bs  is  goi\bg  to  be  mou\bted  o\b  the  proje\ftor, 
    mou\bt the dust \fap i\b\fluded with the pr\eoje\ftor.

    \fommer\fially available distributio\b \eamplifier 
    if \fo\b\be\fti\bg a sig\bal \e\fable lo\bger tha\b the 
    \fable supplied.
    NOTE: F\br Macint\bsh, use a c\bmmercially a\fail-
    able  pin  adapter  (n\bt  supplied)  t\b  c\bnnect  t\b 
    y\bur Mac’s \fide\b p\brt.

    2 Making Connection\us
    The
    	p\fojecto\f 	can 	be 	connected 	to 	a 	compute\f 	using 	the 	compute\f 	cable 	(included), 	a 	BNC 	cable 	(5-co\fe 	type)	
    (comme\fcially	available),	HDMI	cable	(comme\fcially	available)	o\f	DisplayPo\ft	cable	(comme\fcially	available).
    Analog RGB signal \uconnection
    •	 Connect	 the	included	 compute\f	 cable	between	 the	compute\f’s	 display	output	connecto\f	 (mini	D-Sub	 15-pin)	 and	
    the	p\fojecto\f’s	Compute\f	1	o\f	Compute\f	2	video	input	connecto\f.
    •	 When	 connecting	 the	compute\f’s	 display	output	connecto\f	 (mini	D-Sub	 15-pin)	 and	the	p\fojecto\f’s	 Compute\f	3	
    video	input	connecto\f,	use	a	BNC	cable	(5-co\fe)	→	mini	D-Sub	15-pin	conve\fte\f	cable.
    •	 Select	the	sou\fce	name	\bo\f	its	app\fop\fiate	input	connecto\f	a\bte\f	tu\fning	on	the	p\fojecto\f.

    •	 Connect	a	comme\fcially	 available	HDMI	cable	between	 the	compute\f’s	 HDMI	output	 connecto\f	 and	the	p\fojecto\f’s

    •	 Connect	 a	comme\fcially	 available	DisplayPo\ft	 cable	between	 the	compute\f’s	 DisplayPo\ft	 output	connecto\f	 and	
    the	p\fojecto\f’s	DisplayPo\ft	input	connecto\f.

    NOTE:

    •  L\bwer the c\bmputer’s \f\blume setting bef\bre c\bnnecting an audi\b cable t\b the headph\bnes c\bnnect\br. When using with a c\bmputer 
    c\bnnected t\b the pr\b\yject\br, adjust the \f\blume\y \bf b\bth the pr\bject\y\br and c\bmputer t\b s\yet the appr\bpriate \f\b\ylume le\fel.
    •  If the c\bmputer has\y a mini-jack type a\yudi\b \butput c\bnnect\br\y, we rec\bmmend c\bnn\yecting the audi\b ca\yble t\b that c\bnnect\y\br.
    •  When a \fide\b deck is c\bnnected \fia a scan c\bn\ferter, etc., the display may n\bt be c\brrect during fast-f\brwarding and rewinding.
    TIP
    •  The C\bmputer 1 and C\bmputer 2 \fide\b input c\bnnect\brs supp\brt Wind\bws Plug and Play. The C\bmputer 3 \fide\b input c\bnnect\br 
    d\bes n\bt supp\brt Wind\y\bws Plug and Play.
    •  A Macint\bsh signal a\ydapter (c\bmmercially a\failable) m\yay be required t\b c\y\bnnect a Macint\bsh \yc\bmputer.

    Cauti\fns when c\fnnec\vting an HDMI cable
    •	 Use	a	ce\ftified	High	Speed	HDMI®	Cable	o\f	High	Speed	HDMI®	Cable	with	Ethe\fnet.
    Cauti\fns when c\fnnec\vting a DisplayP\f\bt cable
    •	 Use	a	ce\ftified	DisplayPo\ft	cable.
    	
    •	 Depending	on	the	compute\f,	some	time	may	be	\fequi\fed	until	the	image	is	displayed.
    •	 Some	DisplayPo\ft	cables	(comme\fcially	available)	have	locks.
    •	 To	disconnect	the	cable,	p\fess	the	button	on	the	top	o\b	the	cable’s	connecto\f,	then	pull	the	cable	out.
    •	 No	powe\f	is	supplied	\b\fom	the	DisplayPo\ft	input	connecto\f	to	the	connected	device.
    •	 When	signals	\b\fom	a	device	 that	uses	 a	signal	 conve\fte\f	 adapte\f	a\fe	connected	 to	the	 DisplayPo\ft	 input	connecto\f,	
    in	some	cases	the	image	may	not	be	displayed.
    •	 When 	the 	HDMI 	output 	o\b 	a 	compute\f 	is 	connected 	to 	the 	DisplayPo\ft 	input 	connecto\f, 	use 	a 	conve\fte\f 	(comme\fcially	
    available).
    Cauti\fns when using\v a DVI signal
    •	 When	 the	compute\f	 has	a	DVI	 output	 connecto\f,	 use	a	comme\fcially	 available	conve\fte\f	 cable	to	connect	 the	
    compute\f 	to 	the 	p\fojecto\f’s 	HDMI 	input 	connecto\f 	(only 	digital 	video 	signals 	can 	be 	input). 	Also, 	connect 	the	
    compute\f’s	 audio	output	 to	the	 p\fojecto\f’s	 Compute\f	2	audio	 input	connecto\f. 	In	 this	 case,	 switch	 the	HDMI	 setting	
    at	on-sc\feen	menu’s	audio	selection	on	the	p\fojecto\f	to	[COMPUTER2]. 	(→	page	106)
    	 To	 connect	 the	compute\f’s	 DVI	output	 connecto\f	 to	the	 p\fojecto\f’s	 DisplayPo\ft	 input	connecto\f,	 use	a	comme\fcially	
    available	conve\fte\f.
    NOTE: When Viewing \ya DVI Digital Signa\yl
    •  Use a DVI-t\b-HDMI cable c\bmpliant with DDWG (Digital Display W\brking Gr\bup) DVI (Digital Visual Interface) re\fisi\bn 1.0 stan-
    dard. The cable sh\y\buld be within 197"\y/5 m l\bng.
    •  Turn \bff the pr\bject\b\yr and the PC bef\bre\y c\bnnecting the DVI\y-t\b-HDMI cable.
    •  T\b pr\bject a DVI digi\ytal signal: C\bnnect\y the cables, turn \ythe pr\bject\br \bn, th\yen select the HDMI\y input. Finally, turn \bn y\bur PC.
      Failure t\b d\b s\b may n\bt acti\fate the digital \butput \bf the graphics card resulting in n\b picture being displayed. Sh\buld this happen, 
    restart y\bur PC.
    •  S\bme graphics cards ha\fe b\bth anal\bg RGB (15-pin D-Sub) and DVI (\br DFP) \butputs. Use \bf the 15-pin D-Sub c\bnnect\br may 
    result in n\b pictur\ye being displayed fr\y\bm the digital \butpu\yt \bf the graphics ca\yrd.
    •  D\b  n\bt  disc\bnnect  the  DVI-t\b-HDMI  cable  while  the  pr\bject\br  is  running.  If  the  signal  cable  has  been  disc\bnnected  and  then 
    rec\bnnected, an ima\yge may n\bt be c\brrec\ytly displayed. Sh\bul\yd this happen, rest\yart y\bur PC.

    You	can	connect	 a	sepa\fate,	 exte\fnal	monito\f	to	you\f	 p\fojecto\f	 to	simultaneously	 view	on	a	monito\f	 the	compute\f	
    analog	image	you’\fe	p\fojecting.
    NOTE:
    •  Daisy chain c\bnnect\yi\bn is n\bt p\bssible.\y
    •  When audi\b equipmen\yt is c\bnnected, the\y pr\bject\br speaker i\ys disabled.

    •	 When	 connecting	 the	HDMI	 In	connecto\f	 o\b	the	 p\fojecto\f	 to	the	 DVD	 playe\f,	 the	p\fojecto\f’s	 video	level	can	be	made	
    settings	 in	acco\fdance	 with	the	DVD	 playe\f’s	 video	level.	In	 the	 menu	 select	 [VIDEO]	 →	[RGB	 INPUT	 RANGE]	 and	
    make	necessa\fy	settings.
    •	 I\b	the	HDMI	input	sound	cannot	be	hea\fd,	in	the	menu	select	[DIGITAL	 AUDIO	SELECT]	→	[HDMI].	
    •	 I\b	 the	HDMI	 input’s	 sound	is	not	 output,	 check	that	[OPTIONS(1)]	 →	[DIGITAL	 AUDIO	SELECT]	 →	[HDMI]	 on	the	
    p\fojecto\f’s	on-sc\feen	menu	is	set	to	 “HDMI”.	(→	page	106)

    Connecting to a Wi\ured LAN
    The	p\fojecto\f	comes	standa\fd	with	a	LAN	po\ft	(RJ-45)	which	p\fovides	a	LAN	connection	using	a	LAN	cable. 	
    To	 use	 a	LAN	 connection,	 you	a\fe	\fequi\fed	 to	set	 the	 LAN	 on	the	 p\fojecto\f	 menu.	Select	 [APPLICATION	 MENU]	→	
    [NETWORK	SETTINGS]	→	[WIRED	LAN]. 	(→	page	118).
