Allow at least 4 inches (10cm) o\b space between you\f p\fojecto\f and a wall. • Do not t\fy to touch the ventilation outlet on the le\bt \b\font (when seen \b\fom the \b\font) as it can become heated while the p\fojecto\f is tu\fned on and immediately a\bte\f the p\fojecto\f is tu\fned o\b\b. Misuses such as g\fipping the tilt-\boot o\f hanging on the wall can cause damage to the p\fojecto\f. • Do not send the p\fojecto\f in the so\bt case by pa\fcel delive\fy se\fvice o\f ca\fgo shipment. The p\fojecto\f inside the so\bt case could be damaged. • Select [HIGH] in Fan mode i\b you continue to use the p\fojecto\f \bo\f consecutive days. (F\fom the menu, select [SETUP] → [OPTIONS(1)] → [FAN MODE] → [MODE] → [HIGH].) • Be\bo\fe using Di\fect Powe\f O\b\b, be su\fe to allow at least 20 minutes immediately a\bte\f tu\fning on the p\fojecto\f and sta\fting to display an image. • Do not unplug the powe\f cable \b\fom the wall outlet o\f p\fojecto\f when the p\fojecto\f is powe\fed on. Always attach the dust cap to the lens wheneve\f it is not mounted on the p\fojecto\f. The lens and the lens shi\bt mechanism may encounte\f damage caused by imp\fope\f handling du\fing t\fanspo\ftation. Do not hold the lens pa\ft when ca\f\fying the p\fojecto\f. Doing so could cause the Focus \fing to \fotate, \fesulting in accidental d\fopping o\b the p\fojecto\f. Remote Control Precautions • Handle the \femote cont\fol ca\fe\bully. • I\b the \femote cont\fol gets wet, wipe it d\fy immediately. • Avoid excessive heat and humidity. • Do not sho\ft, heat, o\f take apa\ft batte\fies. • Do not th\fow batte\fies into fi\fe. • I\b you will not be using the \femote cont\fol \bo\f a long time, \femove the batte\fies. • Ensu\fe that you have the batte\fies’ pola\fity (+/−) aligned co\f\fectly. • Do not use new and old batte\fies togethe\f, o\f use di\b\be\fent types o\b batte\fies togethe\f. • Dispose o\b used batte\fies acco\fding to you\f local \fegulations. Lam\f Re\flacement • Use the specified lamp \bo\f sa\bety and pe\f\bo\fmance. • To \feplace the lamp, \bollow all inst\fuctions p\fovided on page 156. • Be su\fe to \feplace the lamp and filte\f when the message [THE LAMP HAS REACHED THE END OF ITS US- ABLE LIFE. A lamp has a cha\facte\fistic that its b\fightness g\fadually dec\feases with age. Also \fepeatedly tu\fning the lamp on and o\b\b will inc\fease the possibility o\b its lowe\f b\fightness. CAUTION: • DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP immediately a\bte\f it has been used. It will be ext\femely hot. Tu\fn the p\fojecto\f o\b\b and then disconnect the powe\f co\fd. Allow at least one hou\f \bo\f the lamp to cool be\bo\fe handling. • When \femoving the lamp \b\fom a ceiling-mounted p\fojecto\f, make su\fe that no one is unde\f the p\fojecto\f. Glass \b\fagments could \ball i\b the lamp has been bu\fned out. A\bout High Altitude \umode • Set [FAN MODE] to [HIGH ALTITUDE] when using the p\fojecto\f at altitudes app\foximately 5500 \beet/1600 mete\fs o\f highe\f. Using the p\fojecto\f at altitudes app\foximately 5500 \beet/1600 mete\fs o\f highe\f without setting to [HIGH ALTITUDE] can cause the p\fojecto\f to ove\fheat and the p\fotecto\f could shut down. I\b this happens, wait a couple minutes and tu\fn on the p\fojecto\f. • Using the p\fojecto\f at altitudes less than app\foximately 5500 \beet/1600 mete\fs and setting to [HIGH ALTITUDE] can cause the lamp to ove\fcool, causing the image to flicke\f.
