Page 2-4 - Fan the paper well before placing it in the drawer. - Do not add paper above the line indicated on the guide. - Do not use creased, folded, wrinkled or damp sheets of paper. 3 Push the drawer straight into the machine until it comes to a stop. - Be sure to push the drawer carefully and fully in. Be careful not to let your fingers be caught when closing the drawer. When the paper supply in the selected drawer or Tandem LCF (Large Capacity Feeder) runs out, the drawer or External LCF (Large Capacity Feeder) (optional) shown on the display flashes, and the following message appears: Add paper Add paper as follows. 2. ADD PAPER SYMBOL Make sure that a gap of approx. 0.5 mm (less than 1 mm in total) is left between the paper and the side guide. If there is no gap, this may cause paper misfeeding.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 7-4WHEN THE GRAPHIC SYMBOLS FLASH ON THE TOUCH PANEL MAX Slide Rail A B 1 Pull the tandem LCF out carefully until it comes to a stop. - Be careful not to touch the drawer slide rail. 2 Open some packages of paper, take out entire reams of paper and set them aligned in tray A and tray B. - When setting the paper, set the paper for A to the right side, and set it for B to the left side. (The paper can be set neatly if you pile it up gradually and alternately in trays A and B.) Be sure that the center lever is not open (refer to the labels attached in the tandem LCF ). - Up to 2500 sheets of paper (20 lb Bond) can be set. - Paper starts being fed from the elevator tray A at first, and when it runs out of paper, the paper on tray B moves to the position A. - Set the paper so that it does not protrude beyond the line of indication shown on the rear guide plate. - Do not use creased, folded, wrinkled or damp sheets of paper. - Be careful not to touch the drawer slide rail. 3 Close the cover of the tandem LCF. - Close the drawer completely. The elevator tray automatically moves up to the paper feeding position. Be careful not to let your fingers be caught when closing the drawer. 2. ADD PAPER SYMBOL (Cont.) Do not touch the Elevator Tray while it is moving. 3 Close the cover of the external LCF. - Close the cover completely. The elevator tray automatically moves up to the paper feeding position. Return used toner bottles to your service technician. 3 Shake the new toner bottle well to loosen the toner inside. 4 Holding the new toner bottle as shown on the right, pull out the seal in the direction of the arrow. 5 Match the label (orange) on the machine with the shutter (orange) on the toner bottle, then insert the toner bottle to the end. - If you cannot insert the toner bottle completely, rotate it slightly to check the position and insert it again. - If the toner scatters, wipe it off completely. 6 Return the toner bottle holder back to its original position. 7 Close the front cover. - The following message appears: Wait adding toner The machine automatically star ts supplying toner. - When toner has finished being supplied, the touch panel returns to the basic menu and the current job automatically resumes.

Please call your service technician to ask to have the used toner bag replaced with a new one. Dispose of Used Toner The life of the toner bottle (number of copies) varies depending on the following conditions. Coverage of originals (printing ration of copies) varies depending on the following conditions: 1. Size and density of originals 2. The existence of solid black when making copies (when a book is copied and the original cover is par tially open) 3. Temperature and humidity in the room when making copies 4. Copy density and image quality mode As indicated in the figure below, the life of the toner bottle varies depending on the copy mode and the coverage of the originals Additional Explanation 3.
