In the Global Config mode, it ends the current mode and moves to the previous mode, which is the Priv Exec mode. The prompt changes from (config)# to #. When used in the Priv Exec and User Exec modes, the exit command ends the current session and connection to the terminal device. The service commands and their corresponding parameters vary from mode to mode. The User Exec Mode and Priv Exec Mode commands provide same functionalities with a few minor changes. The Global Config service command sets the size of history files. It also enables viewing of CLI tree of the current mode.
