    7Press down the media pressure 
    plate to lock it into place.

    9Load the envelopes flap side 
    down in the tray.
    Before loading enve-
    lopes, press them down 
    to make sure that all air is 
    removed, and make sure 
    that the folds of the flaps 
    are firmly pressed; other-
    wise the envelopes may 
    become wrinkled or a 
    media misfeed may 
    occur.
    Up to 10 envelopes can be loaded into the tray at one time.
    For envelopes with the 
    flap along the long edge, 
    load the envelopes with 
    the flap toward the back 
    of Tray 2.
    10Slide the media guides against 
    the edges of the paper.

    11Close Tray 2.
    12Select PAPER MENU/PAPER SOURCE/TRAY 2/PAPER SIZE and 
    PAPER TYPE in the configuration menu, and then select the setting for 
    the size and type of paper that are loaded. See also “PAPER MENU” on 
    page 39.

    Glossy Media and Transparencies
    1Pull out Tray 2.
    2Press down the media pressure 
    plate to lock it into place.

    3Slide the media guides to pro-
    vide more space between them.
    4Load the paper face up in the 
    tray.
    For label sheets, letter-
    head, transparencies, 
    and glossy media, up to 
    20 sheets can be loaded 
    into the tray at one time. 
    For postcards and thick 
    stock, up to 50 sheets 
    can be loaded into the 
    tray at one time.
    5Slide the media guides against 
    the edges of the paper.

    1Pull out Tray 3 (Tray 4).

    Do not load above the  
    mark. Up to 500 sheets 
    (80 g/m2 [22 lb]) of plain 
    paper can be loaded into 
    the tray at one time.
