    Note:
    Youcanonly send faxes inblack-and-white whenyouusethisoption.
     1.
    Place youroriginal onthe product forfaxing.
     2.
    Press the Faxbutton.
     3.
    Press the Menubutton, presstheupordown arrow buttons toselect Broadcast Fax,and press
     the
    OK button.
     4.
    Dothe following asnecessary:
     •
    Use thenumeric keypadtomanually enterfaxnumbers. Pressthedown arrow button toadd
     additional
    faxnumbers.
     •
    To select aspeed orgroup dialentry, pressthe Menubutton. Usetheupand down arrows to
     highlight
    anentry, theright arrow button toselect anentry, andtheleftarrow button todeselect an
     entry.
    
    5.
    When youhave finished selecting yourrecipients, presstheOK button.
     6.
    Ifyou need tochange anyfaxsettings, pressthe Menubutton, selectSendSettings ,press the
     OK
    button, andselect yoursettings. Whenyoufinish selecting settings,pressthe Menubutton.
     7.
    Press theStartB&W button. Ifprompted, selectwhere youplaced yourdocument (Automatic
     Document
    Feederorscanner glass).
     Note:
    Tocancel faxing, pressthe Stop/Reset button.
     Your
    product scansyouroriginal andprompts youtoplace additional pages,ifnecessary.

    After
    scanning youroriginals, yourproduct dialsthenumber andsends thefax.
     Note:
    Ifthe number isbusy orthere isacommunication problem,yourproduct displays aredialing
     message
    andwillredial thenumber inafew minutes.

    Open thefileyou want tofax and select theprint command.

    Tochange thePaper Size,Orientation, Color,Image Quality, orCharacter Densitysettings, clickthe
     Preferences
    orProperties button.
     Note:
    Ifyou seeaSetup ,Printer ,or Options button,clickit.Then clickPreferences orProperties
     on
    the next screen. Formore information aboutselecting faxprint settings, clickHelp.
     4.
    Select thePage Range asnecessary. (LeavetheNumber ofcopies setto1.)

    Click Print.
     If
    you ’re faxing forthe first time, youseeawindow likethis one:

    Enter yoursender information sothat recipients canidentify theorigin ofthe fax. Then clickOKto
     save
    thesender information.
     7.
    Add acover sheet, inputafax number, orset upaphone bookofnumbers forfuture use,then click
     Next

     8.
    Ifyou added acover sheettoyour fax,select acover sheetstyle,enteryoursubject andcomment
     information,
    thenclickNext.
     9.
    Click Send totransmit yourfax.

    an answering machineisconnected, makesuretheproducts RingstoAnswer settingisset higher
     than
    thenumber ofrings youranswering machineisset toanswer acall. Forexample, ifthe answering
     machine
    isset topick uponthe fourth ring,setthe product topick uponthe fifth ring orlater.
     If
    a telephone isconnected, andyouuseitto answer acall that turns outtobe afax, wait until the
     products
    LCDscreen displays amessage thataconnection hasbeen made before hanging up.
