Guide to the Names and Functions of the Machine's Control Panel [Home] key 11 Press to display the [Home] screen. For details, see "How to Use the [Home] Screen". Function keys 21 No functions are registered to the function keys as a factory default. You can register often used functions, programs, and Web pages. Simple Screen When you press the {Simple Screen} key, the screen changes to the simplified display. Letters and keys are displayed at a larger size, making operations easier. Certain keys do not appear on the simplified display.[Simple Screen] key 111 Press to switch to the simple screen. See "Switching Screen Patterns", Getting Started . [ # ] key (Enter key) 121 Press to confirm values entered or items specified. [Start] key 131 Press to start copying, printing, scanning, or sending. [Sample Copy] key 141 Press to make a single set of copies or prints to check print quality before making multiple sets. See "Sample Copy", Copy/ Document Server . [Stop] key 151 Press to stop a job in progress, such as copying, scanning, faxing, or printing. [Clear] key 161 Press to delete a number entered. Number keys 171 Use to enter the numbers for copies, fax numbers and data for the selected function. E Press the {Start} key. If you choose Memory Transmission, you can send to more destinations at once. To do this, after step 4, specify destinations and press the {Start} key. To send to an Internet Fax, e-mail, or folder destination, press [Internet Fax], [E-mail], or [Folder] to switch the transmission type. How to send a fax...(Transmission) A Press [Store File]. B Select [Send & Store]. C Set the user name, file name, and password as necessary, and then press [OK]. D Specify a destination, and then press the {Start} key. To use the scanner functions, several settings must be made beforehand. A Press the {Home} key on the top left of the control panel, and press the [Scanner] icon on the [Home] screen. B Make sure that no previous settings remain. If a previous setting remains, press the {Reset} key. C Press the [E-mail] or [Folder] tab. D Place originals. E If necessary, specify the scan settings according to the original to be scanned.
