    							Interpreting Control Panel Indicator Lights
    See the following table to interpret the indicator lights on the control panel.

    							Resetting the Printer to User Defaults
    1Click [On Line] until the On Line indicator is no longer lit.
    2Click [Reset].
    07 RESET appears on the printer display. The printer automatically returns
    on line after the printer is reset.
    A 07 RESET clears the page buffer, removes all non-permanent fonts and
    macros, and returns all print menu settings to user selected defaults.

    							Resetting the Printer to Factory Defaults
    1Click [On Line] until the On Line indicator is no longer lit.
    2Press and hold [Reset].
    3When 09 MENU RESET is displayed, release [Reset].
    09 MENU RESET appears on the printer display after approximately five
    seconds. The printer automatically returns on line after the printer is reset.
    A 09 MENU RESET clears the page buffer, removes all non-permanent fonts
    and macros, and returns all printing menu defaults to their factory defaults,
    except for CONFIG menu settings.

    							Changing Selections on the Control Panel
    1Click [On Line] until the On Line indicator is no longer lit.
    2Click [Menu] until the menu you desire appears on the printer display.

    The prefix PCL or PS depends on whether PCL or PostScript (PS) is currently
    selected. The MIO MENU is only available if an MIO card is installed in the
    printer.
    3Click [Item] until the item you want to change appears on the printer
    display.
    See “Print Menu Selections” and “Config Menu Selections” in this chapter
    for a list of available item selections.
    4Click [+] until the selection you desire appears on the printer display.
    Click  -  to view the previous selection. Press and hold [+] or [-] to scroll
    through the item selections.
    5Click [Enter] to save your selection.
    An asterisk (*) appears to the right of your selection.

    							6Repeat steps 2 through 5 until all of your changes are complete.
    7Click On Line to return the printer on line.
    8If 10 PRESS RESET TO ACTIVATE appears on the printer display and you want
    your changes activated immediately, click [Reset].
    Resetting the printer at this point activates your selections and clears the
    page buffer. The printer automatically returns on line after the printer is
    reset.
    9If you did not reset the printer, click [On Line] to return the printer on line.
    The On Line indicator lights. Changes to the control panel will not take
    effect until all data in the page buffer prints.

    							Selecting an Input Tray
    1Click [On Line] until the On Line indicator is no longer lit.
    2Click [Menu].
    PCL (or PS) PRINT MENU appears on the first line of the printer display.
    3Click [Item] until TRAY appears on the second line of the printer display.
    4Click [+] to select your input tray.
    (A) REAR - selects the optional rear tray.
    (B) FRONT - selects the front tray.
    (C) BOTH - automatically selects the tray with the correct media size.

    In step 4, the REAR and BOTH selections are only available when the optional
    rear input tray is installed. If BOTH is selected and both trays have the correct
    size media, the printer will pull from the front tray. If the front tray runs out of
    media, then the printer will automatically pull from the rear tray. 
    If PCL is selected as the printer language, selecting REAR or FRONT locks out
    the unselected input tray.
