    							Erratic or interrupted printout
    Description Solution
    The interface cable is loose. Remove and reconnect the interface
    cable.

    receptacle.
    You are attempting to print a PCL job
    with the printer configured for

    Partial printout
    Description Solution
    Form Feed was selected while the
    data indicator was flashing.Reprint the file from your software

    the computer is still sending data to
    the printer or the printer is still
    processing data.
    A memory error message appears on
    the printer display.Free up printer memory by deleting
    unwanted downloaded fonts, style
    sheets, macros, and forms from
    printer memory.

    Add more memory to the printer.
    The printer files contain errors. Check your software application to
    make sure the print files are error free
    by 1) trying to print another file that
    you know is error free from within the
    same application; or 2) printing the file
    in question from another application.

    The following table lists the printer messages for this printer. If a printer
    message has a numeric prefix, it is listed in order of the two digit number
    beside the printer message. Printer messages without numeric prefixes are
    listed in alphabetical order at the beginning of the table.

    CONFIG LANGUAGE Display language configuration has
    been selected.Wait for the Display Language menu

    seconds after a new print drum is

    environment parameters, Print Menu

    items to the factory default settings.

    11.4 FRONT TRAY 
    EMPTY [TRN]Front input tray is empty or not
    installed. Transparency (TRN) is
    only displayed when the PostScript
    personality is selected.Load the correct size media in the
    front input tray or install the correct
    size input tray.
    There may be some obstruction
    covering the paper tray sensors in
    the printer.Remove the paper cassette.  Open
    the printer.  Lift the Registration
    Plate (the black plate just behind the
    brown transfer roller) using the
    bright green tab on the front
    left-hand side of the plate.  Under
    the Registration plate, look in the
    center of the printer towards the
    back.  You should see 3 round,
    metal sensor ports that the white
    sensor nubs on the back side of the
    paper tray fit into.  If there is paper
    or anything else covering these,
    remove the obstruction.  If there is
    no obstruction in front of the
    sensors, and you still get the
    message, contact service.
    11.5 REAR TRAY 
    EMPTY [TRN]Rear input tray is empty, not
    installed, or its top cover is open.
    Transparency (TRN) is only
    displayed when the PostScript
    personality is selected.Load the correct size media in the
    rear input tray, then close its top
    cover.
    12 CLOSE TOP
    OR SIDE DOORThe printer top cover or side door is
    not closed properly.Close the top cover or side door
    firmly, making sure that it is properly
    latched. If the top cover will not
    latch, make sure the black protective
    cover on the print drum has been
    removed. If the side door will not
    close, make sure the developers
    and toner collection box are
    correctly installed.
    13.1 CLEAR DRUM
    WINDING JAMMedia is jammed in the printer paper
    path.Remove media from the paper path.
    Open and close the top cover to
    reset the printer, then click [On Line]
    to resume printing.
    13.2 CLEAR 
    OUTPUT JAMMedia is jammed in the output paper
    path.Remove media from the output
    paper path. Open and close the top
    cover to reset the printer, then click

    13.8 CLEAR 
    PAPER JAMMedia is jammed in the printer paper
    path.Remove media from the paper path.
    Open and close the top cover to
    reset the printer, then click [On Line]
    to resume printing.
    14.5 REPLACE 
    COLLECTION KITThe toner collection box is full. The
    printer will remain off line until the
    collection box is replaced.Replace the Toner Collection Kit as
    described in Chapter 6.
    14.6 REPLACE
    COATING KITThe coating roller and cleaning roller
    need to be replaced.Replace the coating kit as described
    in Chapter 6.  If the error message
    does not clear, try removing and
    reseating the coating roller.  If the
    message persists, remove the
    coating roller. Insure the two copper
    colored leaf springs in the cut out
    area of the coating roller slot are
    straight. Reinstall the roller. If the
    message remains, contact service.
    15 PRINTING 
    ENGINE TESTEngine self test and printout are
    being performed. After the engine
    test is completed, the printer returns
    to the ready state, but remains off
    line.Click [On Line] to return the printer
    on line.
    16.5 REPLACE 
    COLLECTION KITToner collection box is almost full. Replace the toner collection box and
    filter soon as described in Chapter 6.
