    slides.TheMid-WeightSlideKit,(HPpartnumber5065-7291)isprovidedwitheachsetofslides.
    Followthestepsinthekitinstallationguidetodeterminewhereandhowtoplacetheserverinto
    therack.
    Thefollowingareadditionalinstructionsforinstallingtheserverintotherack:
    1.Switchthecablemanagementarm(CMA)fromaleft-toaright-mountconfiguration.The
    CMAisfactory-configuredtomountontheleftsideoftheserver(asviewedfromtherear
    ofthechassis).MounttheCMAontherightsideoftheservertoensureeasyremovalofthe
    powersupplies.
    2.RemovetwoT120screwsfromtheserverbezel;onescrewfromthesamelocationoneach
    sideoftheserver.Thescrewsarelocatedbehindthepullhandles.
    Non-HPRack
    UsetheMountinginnon-HPracksguideforevaluatingtheinstallationofHPequipmentinnon-HP
    racks.Theguideprovidesinformationtohelpyoudetermineifyouneedtoqualifywhetheryou
    caninstall,maintain,andserviceanyHPequipmentinanon-HPrack.Theguideislocatedon
    theHPwebsiteathttp://www.hp.com/racksolutions.
    SelectMountinginformationfromthemenuandselecttheguidetitledMountinginnon-HP
    racks.
    PedestalMount
    Ifyouorderedtheserverasrackless,ithasapedestalpre-installedatthefactory.
    Iftheserverisarack-mountedandyouwanttochangeittoapedestal-mount(rackless),you
    needaServerRacklessMountKit.ThiskitcomeswithaninstallationguidetitledConverting
    YourRackServertoaRacklessMount(partnumberA6979-96001).
    Toconvertarack-mountservertoapedestal-mountserver,seeConvertingYourRackServertoa
    PedestalServerontheHPwebsiteathttp://www.hp.com/.
    Followtheinstructionsinthekitinstallationguidetoattachthepedestaltotheserver.

    ThissectiondescribesthecablestoconnecttopowertheserverandtoprovideLANconnectivity
    fortheserver.

    WARNING!Ensurethattheserverispoweredoffandallthepowersourceshavebeen
    disconnectedfromtheserverbeforeattemptingthefollowingprocedures.
    VoltageispresentatvariouslocationswithintheserverwheneveranACpowersourceis
    connected.Thisvoltageispresentevenwhenthemainpowerswitchisintheoffposition.
    Failuretoobservethiswarningcanresultinpersonalinjuryordamagetoequipment.
    ApplyingStandbyPowerTotheServer
    Toapplystandbypowertotheserver,followthesesteps:
    1.IftheserverhasonepowersupplyinstalledinslotP1,plugthepowercordintothat
    receptacle.Plugtheotherendofthepowercordintoanappropriateoutlet.
    NOTE:TheLEDonthepowersupplydoesnotilluminateinthestandbypowerstate.The
    LEDilluminateswhentheserverispoweredontofullpower.Ifthepowerrestorefeature
    issettoAlwaysOnthroughtheiLOMPPRcommand,theserverautomaticallypowerson
    tothefullpowerstatewhenthepowercordispluggedintotheserver.
    2.Iftheserverhastwopowersupplies,plugthesecondpowercordintothepowersupplyin
    slotP2.Plugtheotherendofthepowercordintoanappropriateoutlet.
    ConnectingTotheLAN
    Theserverhasthefollowingportsthatprovidenetworkconnectivity:
    •iLOMPLANport.UsethisporttoaccesstheiLOMPthroughtheLAN.
    •Console/Remote/UPSport(RS-232).UsethisporttoaccesstheiLOMPthroughtheconsole.
