RemovingandReplacingServerCoversandBezel Toupgrade,remove,orreplacemostservercomponents,youmustfirstremovetheservercovers fromthechassis.Thissectionexplainshowtoremoveandreplacetheservercoversandbezel forrack-mountandpedestal-mountconfigurations. WARNING!Donotremovetheservercoverwithoutfirstturningtheserveroffandunplugging thepowercordfromtheoutletorpowerprotectiondeviceunlessyouareonlyreplacinga hot-swappablefan.Alwaysreplacethecoverbeforeturningtheserveron. AccessingaRack-MountServer HP9000rp3410andrp3440serversaredesignedtoberackmounted.Thefollowingprocedure explainshowtogainaccesstoaserverthatismountedinanapprovedrack.Forslideinstallation instructions,seetheInstallationGuide,Mid-WeightSlideKit(HPpartnumber5065-7291). WARNING!Ensurethatallanti-tipfeatures(frontandrearanti-tipfeetinstalled;adequate ballastproperlyplaced,andsoon.)areemployedbeforeextendingtheserver. Toaccesstheinternalcomponentsonarack-mountedserver,pulltheserveroutontotherail guidesandremovethetopcover. ExtendingtheServerFromtheRack NOTE:Ensurethatthereisenougharea(approximately1.5meters[4.5ft.])tofullyextendthe serveroutthefronttoworkonit.
