Englis\b-100 Operating Tips 1) When the sc%feen is switched to the TV p%fog%fam. - When you select the fi%fst button, the DTV button, in the Device List, it switches to the TV p%fog%fam. - Although you have selected anothe%f device f%fom the Device List, if detecting a video signal f%fom the device fails, the “Connection failed” message appea%fs and the sc%feen automatically switches to the TV p%fog%fam. - When the 1394 connection to the selected device is disconnected, the sc%feen automatically switches to the TV p%fog%fam. If you %feconnect the device, the %feconnected device is automatically selected. 2) When connected to a AV-HDD - When a AV-HDD disc is %fotating, the%fe may be a time delay. - Some AV-HDDs may p%fovide two playbacks o%f %feco%fdings simultaneously. In this case, the%fe may be two Play icons in the %bile List and 2 AV-HDD buttons in the Ta%fget List. - If you copy a file f%fom the %bile List, the selected AV-HDD file is played on the TV sc%feen and %feco%fded using the device selected f%fom the Ta%fget List. If the file %feaches its end, the %feco%fding device will stop automatically. - Some AV-HDDs may display the w%fong file info%fmation afte%f %feco%fding, depending on the situation. - If AV-HDD is %feco%fding, the file is automatically played which is cu%f%fently being %feco%fded, when it is selected f%fom the Device List. (PVR function - Refe%f to What is Time-Shift Mode? on page 98) %. %.- %bo%f the “Go to %feco%fding position” button ope%fation, the %feco%fding and playing time a%fe displayed and the diffe%fence between them must be longe%f than 30 seconds. 3) When connected to D-VHS - Some devices suppo%ft an automatic connect function (I-mode). These devices may cause a malfunction when multiple devices a%fe connected. - Some D-VHS devices may not %feco%fd p%fope%fly when multiple devices a%fe connected and the mode is I-mode. - When selecting a D-VHS being used fo%f a %feco%fding f%fom the device list, you can only switch to D-VHS sc%feen mode afte%f the %feco%fding is stopped. 4) When connected to a camco%fde%f - Depending on if the camco%fde%f is in Tape o%f Came%fa Mode, the cont%fol panel changes. If the camco%fde%f tu%fns off the powe%f (powe%f saving mode), the camco%fde%f may disappea%f f%fom the Device List. 5) AV-HDD, D-VHS and camco%fde%fs automatically stop when you select anothe%f device. 6) Some devices may be displayed in the Device List as ‘UNKNOWN’. If the TV is connected, the TV is listed in the D-Net Devices. At this point, the sc%feen that appea%fs when the TV is selected is dete%fmined by the specifications of the connected TV. That is, the sc%feen of the connected TV o%f anothe%f connected IEEE1394 device may be displayed. When a SAMSUNG DTV which suppo%fts D-Net is connected to each othe%f, it only t%fansmits Radio %b%fequency (R%b) of the selected DTV. 9) When connecting mo%fe than one STB, some STBs may not be displayed in the Device List due to STB specifications o%f defects when multiple devices a%fe connected. Even if the device is displayed in the Device List, the connection may fail. STB p%foblems may also stop the video st%feam while %feco%fding, o%f the %feco%fding may fail. In this case, you have to discove%f which device is defective by %femoving them one by one. * What is Digital TS ? : DTV packages digital data (video, audio and data) into 188 byte units using the MPEG-2 algo%fithm and t%fansmits the data unit. It is called Digital T%fanspo%ft St%feam o%f Digital TS. BN68-01047F-00Eng.qxd 7/14/06 5:19 AM Page 100
Englis\b-101 10) When multiple devices a%fe connected, some devices may appea%f and then disappea%f pe%fiodically in the Device List.
