Changing port settings after installing a new network Internal
    Solutions Port
When a new network Lexmark Internal Solutions Port (ISP) is installed in the printer, the printer configurations on
computers that access the printer must be updated because the printer will be assigned a new IP address. All computers
that access the printer must be updated with this new IP address in order to print to it over the network.
    Notes:
If the printer has a static IP address that will stay the same, then you do not need to make any changes to the
    computer configurations.
If the computers are configured to print to the printer by a network name that will stay the same, instead of by
IP address, then you do not need to make any changes to the computer configurations.
If you are adding a wireless ISP to a printer previously configured for a wired connection, then make sure the
wired network is disconnected when you configure the printer to operate wirelessly. If the wired connection
remains connected, then the wireless configuration will complete, but the wireless ISP will not be active. In the
event that the printer was configured for a wireless ISP while still attached to a wired connection, disconnect
the wired connection, turn the printer off, and then turn the printer back on again. This will enable the wireless
    ISP.
Only one network connection at a time is active. If you want to switch the connection type between wired and
wireless, you must first turn the printer off, connect the cable (to switch to a wired connection) or disconnect
the cable (to switch to a wireless connection), and then turn the printer back on again.

Setting up and using the Home Screen applications
Making the home screen applications work for you
Your printer came with special applications to enable you to store, access, and display printed material and images on
the touch screen. You can also select environmentally friendly printer settings for saving paper and energy.
The touch‑screen applications that came with your printer are:
    Forms and Favorites
Access frequently used forms and bookmarks with this application. Create your own index of forms, information
sheets, and other materials you print often. The application works by linking the documents by their URL or Web
sites. When you want to print a form, touch Forms and Favorites, touch the form you want, and then print.
    Eco‑Settings
Alter printer settings to save energy and paper with this application. When you select the Energy Eco‑Setting, the
printer automatically conserves energy using a different Power Saver setting. When you select the Paper Eco‑Setting,
the printer saves paper by printing on both sides of the paper. When you select the Energy/Paper Eco‑Setting, the
printer uses all the settings for reducing your printers impact on the environment.
    Background and Idle Screen
Make your own background and idle screens with this application. Your home screen displays the background, idle
screen, and button icons of your choice. You can tailor your home screen to look a certain way and you can determine
what icons show on the display. This way, you can show the icons you use most often and hide the others.
    Showroom
View the special features of your printer with this slide show application. Designed to acquaint users with the printer,
the slide show highlights the efficient, paper‑saving, and sustainable solutions of your printer.
You can set up and use the home screen applications by using the home screen buttons or the Embedded Web Server.
To open the Embedded Web Server, type your printer IP address into the address field of your Web browser. If you do
not know the IP address of the printer, then print a network setup page and locate the IP address in the TCP/IP section. Setting up and using the Home Screen applications 54
