Understanding printer messages List of status and error messages Activating Menu Changes Wait for the message to clear. Busy Wait for the message to clear. Cancel not available Wait for the message to clear. Canceling Wait for the message to clear. Change to is a tray or feeder, and is a paper size or type. You can change the current paper source for the remainder of the print job. The formatted page will print on the paper loaded in the selected tray. This may cause clipping of text or images. Try one or more of the following: Select the paper tray with the correct paper size or type. Touch Use current [src] to ignore the message and print from the tray selected for the print job. Touch Continue to continue the job if the correct size and type are loaded in the tray, and this size and type are specified in the printer control panel Paper menu. Note: If you touch Continue when there is no paper in the tray, the job is not continued. Touch Cancel job to cancel the current job. Check tray connection Try one or more of the following: Turn the printer off and then back on. If the error occurs a second time: 1Turn the printer off. 2Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. 3Remove the tray. 4Reattach the tray. Disk corrupted The printer attempted a hard disk recovery on a corrupted hard disk, and the hard disk cannot be repaired. The hard disk must be reformatted. Touch Reformat disk to reformat the hard disk and clear the message. Note: Reformatting the disk deletes all the files currently stored on the disk. Install a MICR cartridge to continue printing. Invalid Engine Code You need to download valid engine code for the printer. Invalid Network Code You need to download valid network printing code for the internal print server. The internal print server is a hardware option installed inside the printer. Load staples Try one or more of the following: Replace the specified staple cartridge in the finisher. Touch Continue to clear the message and continue printing. Touch Cancel job to cancel the print job. Maintenance Replace the maintenance items and, if necessary, reset the printer maintenance counter. For information on purchasing supplies, see “Ordering supplies” on page 163. Menu access turned off by system administrator The printer menus cannot be accessed because your system support person disabled the menus. Wait for the message to clear. Not Ready The printer is not ready to receive or process data, or the printer ports are offline. No recognized file types Either there are no files saved on the flash drive, or the files saved are not supported. Convert files to any of the following supported file types: .pdf, .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .bmp, .png, .tiff, .tif, .pcx, or .dcx. Overflow bin full Remove the stack of paper from the bin to clear the message. Parallel/Parallel The printer is using a parallel cable connection. The parallel port is the active communication link. [PJL RDYMSG] This is the Printer Job Language (PJL) Ready message. It appears after the Ready or Power Saver message. If the message string is too long, it is truncated.
