The coolant level should be up to the MAX line. Add coolant if it is low. Pourthecoolantslowlyand caref ully so you do not spill any. Check the f luid level in the windscreen washer reservoir at least monthly during normal use. Check the reservoir’s f luid level as f ollows: Unf asten the reservoir cap. Pull up the cap until the tube is f ully exposed.Check the f luid trace on the tube. If the f luid level is low, f ill the reservoir with windscreen washer f luid. Fill the reservoir with a good-quality windscreen washer f luid. This increases the cleaning capability and prevents f reezing in cold weather.When you ref ill the reservoir, clean the edges of the windscreen wiper blades with windscreen washer f luid on a clean cloth. This will help to condition them. Do not use engine antif reeze or a vinegar/water solution in the windscreen washer reservoir. Antif reeze can damage your vehicle’s paint, while a vinegar/water solution can damage the windscreen washer pump. Use only commercially- available windscreen washer f luid. 1. 2.3. Check the f luid level with the engine at normal operating temperature. Park the vehicle on level ground. Start the engine, let it run until the radiator f an comes on, then shut of f the engine. For accurate results, wait about 60 seconds (but no longer than 90 seconds) bef ore doing step 2.Remove the dipstick and check the f luid level. It should be between the upper and lower marks. If the level is below the lower mark, add f luid into the dipstick hole to bring it to the level between the upper and lower marks. Pour the f luid slowly and caref ully so you do not spill any. Clean up any spill immediately; it could damage components in the engine compartment. Always use Honda Genuine ATF-Z1 (Automatic Transmission Fluid).Insert the dipstick all the way back into the transmission securely as shown in the illustration. Make sure the rubber cap on the dipstick f its in the dipstick guide and that you push the dipstick in all the way. Damage resulting f rom the use of transmission fluid other than Honda Genuine ATF-Z1 is not covered by the Honda new vehicle warranty. Using transmission f luid other than Honda Genuine ATF-Z1 may cause deteriorationintransmission operation and durability, and could result in damage to the transmission. Use only Honda Genuine ATF-Z1 (Automatic Transmission Fluid). Do not mix with other transmission f luids. If youarenotsurehowtoaddfluid, contact your dealer. Always use genuine Honda MTF-3 (Manual Transmission Fluid-3). If it is not available, you may use an API serviceSJorhighergrademotoroil with a viscosity of SAE 0W-30 or 0W- 40 as a temporary replacement. However, motor oil does not contain the proper additives, and continued use can cause stif f er shif ting. Replace as soon as it is convenient. The brake f luid reservoir consists of the two parts: primary and secondary reservoirs. The secondary reservoir is behind the primary reservoir. MAX mark is on the primary reservoir, and MIN is on the secondary. Check the f luid level in the reservoirs monthly. The air cleaner element should also be cleaned according to the maintenance schedule. Clean the air cleaner element by blowing compressed air through it in the opposite direction to normal air f low. If you do not have access to compressed air (such as a service station), ask your dealer to do this service. Caref ully clean the inside of the air cleaner housing with a damp rag.Place the new air cleaner element in the air cleaner housing.Make sure to connect the air intake tube to the air cleaner housing. Remove the old air cleaner element. Unsnap the three holding-clips and pull up the f ront of the air cleaner housing cover. To replace it: The air cleaner element is inside the air cleaner housing in the engine compartment. Reinstall the air cleaner housing cover, and snap the three holding- clips securely. Place the new air cleaner element in the air cleaner housing. Caref ully clean the inside of the air cleaner housing with a damp rag. The air cleaner element should be replaced according to the time and distance recommendations in the maintenance schedule.
