To put the automatic climate control in f ully-automatic mode: Press the AUTO on the temperature control dial. Set the desired temperature by turning the temperature control dial. You will see AUTO and the selected temperature in the display. On vehicles with dual temperature control system, you can also set the passenger’s side temperature. The system automatically selects the proper mix of conditioned and/or heated air that will, as quickly as possible, raise or lower the interior temperature to your pref erence.If you press the OFF button, the climate control system shuts of f completely. When you set the temperature to its lower limit ( ) or its upper limit ( ), the system runs at f ull cooling or heating only. It does not regulate the interior temperature. In cold weather, the fan will not come on automatically until the heater starts to develop warm air. When the indicator in the dual button is on, the driver’s side and passenger’s side temperature can be controlled independently (see page ).To keep stale air and mustiness f rom collecting, you should have the f an running at all times. ÛÝ On vehicles with dual temperature control system On vehicles without dual temperature control system The driver and passenger can select independent temperature settings. Press the DUAL button. When the indicator in the button is lit, turn the dial to adjust the temperature on the driver’s side. On the Passenger’s side, press either side ( or ) of the temperature control button on the f ront passenger’s door armrest. When the indicator is off, both sides adjust to the same temperature. You can manually select various f unctions of the climate control system when it is in f ully-automatic mode. All other f eatures remain automatically controlled. Making any manual selection causes the word AUTO in the display to go out. Press the A/C button to turn the air conditioningonandoff.Youwillsee A/C ON or A/C OFF in the display. When you turn the A/C of f , the system cannot regulate the inside temperature if you set the temperature control dial below the outside temperature.Turning the temperature control dial clockwise increases the temperature of the airf low. When the indicator is off, air is brought in f rom the outside of the vehicle (fresh air mode). These two buttons control the source of air going into the system. In f resh air mode , air comes f rom outside the vehicle. In recirculation mode , the interior air recycles through the system.The outside air intakes f or the climate control system are at the base of the windscreen. Keep this area clear of leaves and other debris. Thesystemshouldbeleftinfresh air mode under almost all conditions. Keeping the system in recirculation mode, particularly with the A/C of f , can cause the windows to fog up. Switch to recirculation mode when driving through dusty or smoky conditions, then return to fresh air mode. Select the f an speed by pressing the top or bottom of the fan speed control switch ( or ). The f an speed is shown in vertical bars on the display.Press the DUAL button to select dual temperature control mode (see page ). You can set the temperatures for the driver’s side and the passenger’s side separately when this button is pressed (indicator is on). This button directs the main airflow to the windscreen for faster def rosting. It also overrides any mode selection you may have made. When you select , the system automatically switches to f resh air mode and turns on the A/C. For f aster def rosting, manually set the fanspeedtohigh.Youcanalso increase airf low to the windscreen by closing the corner vents on the dashboard. When you turn of f by pressing the button again, the system returns to its former settings. For your saf ety, make sure you have a clear view through all the windows bef ore driving.This button turns the rear window demister of f and on (see page ). Whenyouturnontherearwindow demister, the heated door mirror is also turned on automatically. Use the MODE button to select the vents the air flows from. Some air will f low f rom the dashboard corner vents in all modes. Each time you press the MODE button, the display shows the mode selected. Airf low is divided between the floor and corner vents, and the demister vents at the base of the windscreen. You can manually select various f unctions of the climate control system when it is in f ully-automatic mode. All other f eatures remain automatically controlled. The climate control display will go of f about 5 seconds af ter you stop making a manual selection. Each time you push the interf ace dial down, the selected mode switches between the f an control and the mode selection. In the fan control mode, turn the interf ace dial to select a f an speed, andinthemodeselection,turnthe dial to select a mode. The selected mode is highlighted on the screen.
