System Operations Backing Up Speech Files The Selective Backup of Speech Files screen is used to back up the speech files. Follow these steps to backup the speech files: 1. 2. 3. 4.At the Backup to Removable Media menu, move the cursor to Speech Backup and press {Enter}. — The Speech Backup menu appears. At the Speech Backup menu, move the cursor to Selective Backup of Talkfiles/Phrases and press {Enter}. — The Selective Backup of Speech Files screen appears. Enter the following names. The exact format to use is: Press — talkfile 46 phrase all talkfile 47 phrase all F3q (SAVE). If you have more than one floppy disk drive, or if you have a cartridge tape drive, the Select Removable Media menu appears. Make your choice and press {Enter}. The system calculates the number of disks required. Note: If more disks are needed, follow these steps: a. Press (Delete). b. Use the appropriate steps in the procedure Formatting a Floppy Disk in this chapter to format the disks needed. You do not need to log in again. 5-27

System Operations Restoring Administrative Files The voice system should be running before restoring files. Both the administrative files and the speech files must be restored together. You cannot restore the system without both. CAUTION: Be sure to remove all channels from service by changing their state to MANOOS to prevent loss of data before beginning the restore procedure. Refer to Changing the State of Voice Channels for instructions. Generating Reports AUDIX Voice Power gathers various records regarding the following: n Phone line usage n Subscribers about to run out of space in their mailboxes n Mailbox usage n Most recent audit The Reports Administration window is where you can access system or AUDIX Voice Power reports. You should generate and monitor these administrative reports on a regular basis. This helps to ensure that the system is running properly and helps to avoid problems in the future. 6-1
Generating Reports Reaching the Reports Administration Menu From the Reports Administration menu, you can either generate AUDIX Voice Power reports or System reports. To reach the Reports Administration menu, follow these steps: 1. Log into the system as audix. — The User Login menu appears. 2.At the User Login menu, move the cursor to Voice System Administration and press {Enter}. — The Voice System Administration menu appears. 3.At the Voice System Administration menu, move the cursor to Reports Administration and press {Enter}. — The Reports Administration menu appears. 4.
