To clear the fax log1.From the printer contr ol panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup. 2. Touch Fax Setup , and then touch Fax Tools . 3. Touch Clear Fax Log . Print the details of the last fax transaction The Last Fax Transaction report p rints the details of the last fax transaction to occ ur. Details include the fax number, number of pages, and the fax status. To print the Last Fax Transaction report 1.From the printer contr ol panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup. 2. Touch Fax Setup , and then touch Fax Reports . 3. Touch Last Transaction . Print a Caller ID Report Use the following procedure to print a list of Caller ID fax nu mbers. To print a Caller ID History Report 1.From the printer contr ol panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup. 2. Touch Fax Setup , and then touch Fax Reports . 3. Touch Caller ID Report . View the Call History Use the following procedure to view a list of all the calls placed from the printer. NOTE:The call history cannot be print ed. 6Web Services The printer offers innovative, web-enabled solutions that can h elp you quickly access the Internet, obtain documents, and print them faster and with less hassle—and all without using a computer. NOTE: To use these web features, the printer must be connected to the Internet (either using an Ethernet cable or wireless connect ion). You cannot use these web features if the printer is connected using a USB cable. What are Web Services? The printer includes the following Web Services: ● HP ePrint ● Print apps HP ePrint HP ePrint is a free service from HP that allows you to print to your HP ePrint-enabled printer anytime, from any location. It's as simple as sending an email to the em ail address assigned to your printer when you enable Web Services on the printer. No special drivers or software are needed. If you can send an email, you can print from anywhere, using HP ePrint. Once you have signed up for an account on HP Connected ( www.hpconnected.com ), you can sign in to view your HP ePrint job statu s, manage your HP ePrint printe r queue, control who can use your printer's HP ePrint email address to print, and get help for HP ePrint. Print apps Print apps allow you to easily locate and print preformatted web content, directly from your printer. You can also scan and store your documents digitally on the Web . Print apps provide a wide range of content, from store coupons to family activities, news, travel, sports, cooking, photos, and many more. You can even view and p rint your online images from popular photo sites Certain print apps also allow yo u to schedule the delivery of app content to your printer. Pre-formatted content designed sp ecifically for your printer means no cut-off text and pictures and no extra pages with only one line of text. On some printers, you can also choose paper and print quality settings on the print preview screen. All without even having to turn on your computer! 88 Chapter 6 Web Services ENWW
Set up Web Services To set up Web Services, use one of the following methods. NOTE:Before you set up Web Services, make sure your printer is connected to the Internet using either an Ethernet or wireless connection. ●Set up Web Services using the printer control panel ● Set up Web Services using the embedded web server ● Set up Web Services using the HP printer software Set up Web Services using the printer control panel The printer control panel provid es an easy way to set up and ma nage Web Services. To set up Web Services, complete the following steps: 1. Make sure the printer is connected to the Internet using either an Ethernet or wireless connection. 2. From the printer con trol panel, touch (print apps) or (HP ePrint). 3. Touch Yes to accept the Web Services term s of use and enable Web Services. 4. In the Auto Update screen, touch Yes to allow the printer to autom atically check for and install product updates. NOTE: If a printer update is availabl e, the printer will download and install the update, and then restart. You will have to repeat the instructions from step 1 to set up HP ePrint. NOTE:If prompted for proxy settings and if your network uses proxy settings, follow the on- screen instructions to set up a proxy server. If you do not have the proxy details, contact your network administrator or the person who set up the network. 5. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup. Set up Web Services usi ng the embedded web server You can use the printer's embedded web server (EWS) to set up a nd manage Web Services. To set up Web Services, complete the following steps: 1. Open the EWS. For mor e information, see Embedded web server on page 118. 2. Click the Web Services tab. 3. In the Web Services Settings section, click Setup, click Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to acce pt the terms of use. 4. If prompted, choose to allow the printer to check for and insta ll printer updates. NOTE:If a printer update is availabl e, the printer downloads and ins talls the update, and then restarts. NOTE:If prompted for proxy settings and if your network uses proxy settings, follow the on- screen instructions to set up a proxy server. If you do not have the proxy details, contact your network administrator or the person who set up the network. 5. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup. Set up Web Services using the HP printer software If you did not set up Web Services when you installed the HP so ftware on your computer, you can still use the software to set up Web Services. To set up Web Services (Windows) 1.Open the HP printer software. For more information, see Open the HP printer software (Windows) on page 37. 2. In the HP printer software, select ePrint Setup under Print, Scan & Fax. The printer EWS opens. 3. Click the Web Services tab. 4. In the Web Services Settings section, click Setup, click Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to acce pt the terms of use. 5. If prompted, choose to allow the printer to check for and insta ll printer updates. NOTE:If a printer update is availabl e, the printer will download and install the update, and then restart. You will have to repeat the instructions from step 1 to set up HP ePrint. 6.If your network uses proxy settings when connecting to the Internet, enter these settings: a. Touch Enter Proxy . b. Enter the proxy server settings, and then touch Done. 7. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup. To set up Web Services (OS X) ▲To set up and manage Web Services , you can use the printer's embedded web server (EWS). Use Web Services The following section describes how to use and configure Web Services. ● HP ePrint ● Print apps HP ePrint HP ePrint allows you to print to your HP ePrint-enabled printer anytime, from any location. To use HP ePrint, make sure to have the following: ● An Internet- and email-capabl e computer or mobile device ● An HP ePrint-capable printer on which Web Services has been ena bled TIP:For more information about managing and configuring HP ePrint s ettings and to learn about the latest features, visit HP Connected at www.hpconnected.com. Print using HP ePrint To print documents using HP ePrint, complete the following step s: 1. Enable Web Services. a. From the printer control panel display, touch (HP ePrint). b. Accept the Terms of Use, and then follow the on-screen instruct ions to enable Web Services. c. Print the ePrint information page , and then follow the instructions on the page to sign up for an HP ePrint account. 2. On your computer or mobile devic e, open your email application. NOTE:For information about using the email application on your compu ter or mobile device, see the documentation provided with the application. 3. Create a new email message, and th en attach the file that you want to print. 4. Enter the printer's email addre ss in the “To” line of the email message, and then select the option to send the email message. NOTE: The HP ePrint server does not a ccept email print jobs if there are multiple email addresses included in the "To" or "Cc" fields. Only enter the email address of your HP printer in the "To" field. Do not enter any additional email addresses in the other fields. Find the printer's email address NOTE:Make sure you have created an ePrint account. To sign up for an account on HP Co nnected, visit HP Connected at www.hpconnected.com. ▲ From the printer control panel display, touch (HP ePrint). To customize the email address, touch Print Info . The printer prints an information page that contains the printer code and in structions on how to customize the email address. ENWW Use Web Services 91
Turn off HP ePrint 1.From the printer con trol panel, touch (HP ePrint), and then touch Settings. 2. Touch ePrint, and then touch Off. NOTE: To remove all Web Services, see Remove Web Services on page 93. Print apps Print apps allow you to easily lo cate and print pre-formatted web content, directly from your printer. ● Use print apps ● Manage print apps ● Turn off print apps Use print apps To use the print apps on your printer, touch (print apps) on the print er control panel display, and then touch the print app you want to use. For more information about individual print a pps, visit www.hpconnected.com. Manage print apps You can manage your print apps with HP Connected. You can add, configure, or remove print app, and set the order in wh ich they appear on your printer control panel display. NOTE:To manage print app from HP Conn ected, create an account on HP Connected and add your printer. For more information, visit www.hpconnected.com. Turn off print apps To turn off print apps, co mplete the following steps: 1. From the printer con trol panel, touch (HP ePrint), and then touch Settings. 2. Touch Apps, and then touch Off.
