Selecting theLine Type If you connect theproduct toaPBX (Private BranchExchange) phonesystem orterminal adapter, you must change theproducts linetype. PBXisused inoffice environments whereanexternal accesscode such as“9 ” must bedialed tocall anoutside line.Thedefault LineType setting isPSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network),whichisastandard phoneline,similar tothe one inyour home. Note: Thissetting canbelocked byan administrator. Ifyou cannot access orchange thissetting, contact youradministrator forassistance. 1. Press the homebutton, ifnecessary. 2. Press theupordown arrow button, selectSetup,and press theOK button. 3. Select FaxSettings andpress theOK button. 4. Select BasicSettings andpress theOK button. 5. Off Turns offError Correction Mode(ECM) —color faxes cannot besent orreceived. Dial Tone Detection On Automatically dialsthenumber youenter forfaxing when theproduct detectsadial tone. Off Turns offautomatic dialtone detection, whichmaybe necessary ifthe product isconnected toaPBX (Private BranchExchange) oraTA (Terminal Adapter).
