Whenyouchange fromWinter toSummer ,your product automatically setsitsclock ahead one hour. When youchange fromSummer toWinter ,it sets itsclock backonehour. 12. Ifnecessary, selectTimeDifference andusetheicons onthe screen toset the difference between UTC (Coordinated UniversalTime)andyour timezone. PresstheOK button whenyouaredone. 7. Use thenumeric keypadtoenter yourfaxnumber, upto20 characters. PresstheOK button when you aredone. 8. Onthe Distinctive RingSetting screen, doone ofthe following: • Ifyou have subscribed toadistinctive ringservice fromyourtelephone company,presstheup arrow button. Then,select thering pattern tobe used forincoming faxesandgotostep 13. • Ifyou donot have distinctive ringservice, pressthedown arrow button andgotothe next step. Note: • Distinctive ringservice allowsyoutohave several phonenumbers onone phone line.Each number isassigned adifferent ringpattern. Youcanuseone number forvoice callsandanother for fax calls. Select thering pattern assigned tofax calls inthe DRD Setting. • Ifyou select Onorone ofthe ring patterns otherthanAll,Receive Modeisautomatically setto Auto . 9. Doone ofthe following: • Ifyou connected anexternal telephone oranswering machinetothe products EXTport, press the up arrow button andgotothe next step. 149
• Ifyou didnot connect anexternal telephone oranswering machine,pressthedown arrow button and gotostep 11. 10. Doone ofthe following: • Ifyou connected anexternal telephone oranswering machinetothe products EXTport, press the up arrow button toreceive faxesmanually orpress thedown arrow toreceive themautomatically. Note: Ifyou have connected anexternal answering machineandselected toreceive faxes automatically, makesuretheRings toAnswer settingiscorrect. Ifyou select toreceive faxes manually, youneed toanswer everycalland usetheproduct ’s control paneloryour phone to receive faxes. • Ifyou didnot connect anexternal telephone oranswering machine,pressthedown arrow button to receive faxesautomatically. Note: When noexternal telephone isconnected tothe product, Receive Modemustbeset to Auto ;otherwise youcannot receive faxes. 11. Press theOK button. 12. Onthe Confirm Settings screen,confirmthedisplayed settingsandpress theOK button. (Pressthe back button ifyou need tocorrect orchange thesettings.) 13. Onthe Confirmation screen,presstheOK button tocheck thefaxconnection andprint areport of the check result. Ifthere areany errors reported, trythe solutions onthe report, andrunthecheck again. Note: • Ifthe Select LineType screen isdisplayed, selectthecorrect linetype. • Ifthe Select DialTone Detection screenisdisplayed, selectDisable .However, disablingthedial tone detection functionmaydrop thefirst digit ofafax number andsend thefaxtothe wrong number.
