Zoom in to or out from a picture1. In a picture, press the Menu key. 2. Click Zoom In or Zoom Out . To zoom back to the original picture size, press the Menu key. Click Fit to Screen . Memory and media cards About media cards Depending on your BlackBerry® device model, you can insert a microSD media card into your device to take videos and extend the memory that is available on your device for storing media files such as songs, ring tones, videos, or pictures. For more information about inserting a media card into your device, see the printed documentation that came with your device. Format the device memory or a media card If you format the BlackBerry® device memory or a media card, all the files in the device memory or on the media card are deleted. Depending on your device model, you might not be able to format your device memory. 1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon. 2. Click Memory. 3. Press the Menu key. 4. Click Format. 5. Complete the instructions on the screen. View the amount of memory used by media files 1. On the Home screen, click the Media icon. 2. Press the Menu key. 3. Click Memory Use . Turn off media card support When you turn off media card support, your BlackBerry® device cannot access the files on your media card. 1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon. 2. If necessary, change the Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected field. • To receive a prompt to select mass storage mode or MTP when you connect your device to your computer, set the Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected field to Prompt. 4. About compression Compression is designed to reduce the size of your BlackBerry® device data while maintaining the integrity of that data. When compression is turned on, your device compresses all device data, including messages, contacts, calendar entries, tasks, and memos. You should keep compression turned on. If both compression and encryption are turned on, your device compresses device data before encrypting it. About file encryption File encryption is designed to protect files that you store in the BlackBerry® device memory and on a media card that can be inserted in your device. You can encrypt the files in the device memory and on your media card using an encryption key that your device generates, your device password, or both. If you encrypt the files using an encryption key that your device generates, you can only access the files on your media card when the media card is inserted in your device. If you encrypt the files using your device password, you can access the files on your media card in any device that you insert your media card into, as long as you know the password for the device.User GuideMedia114

Encrypt the files in the device memory and on a media card1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon. 2. Click Memory. 3. Perform one of the following actions: • To encrypt files using an encryption key that your device generates, change the Encryption Mode field to Device. • To encrypt files using a device password, change the Encryption Mode field to Security Password . • To encrypt files using an encryption key and a device password, change the Encryption Mode field to Security Password & Device . 4. Change the Encrypt Media Files field to Yes. 5. Press the Menu key. 6. Click Save. To stop encrypting the files in the device memory and on a media card, change the Encryption Mode field to None. Related topics Set a device password, 254 Transferring and downloading media files About transferring and synchronizing media files You can connect your BlackBerry® device to your computer to transfer and synchronize files between your device and your computer, or you can use Bluetooth® technology to send media files to or receive media files from a Bluetooth enabled device. If you want to manage and preserve the information associated with your media files when you transfer or synchronize files between your device and your computer, use the media manager tool of the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager. For more information about using the media manager tool, see the online help that is available in the Roxio® Media Manager. For more information about using the BlackBerry® Media Sync, see the online help that is available for the BlackBerry Media Sync. If you want to transfer files quickly between your media card and your computer, use mass storage mode or MTP. Use mass storage mode to transfer all file types and MTP to transfer media files. Depending on your device model, MTP might not be supported. If you transfer files to your media card using mass storage mode, MTP, or Bluetooth technology, your device does not encrypt the files. If you transfer encrypted files from your media card using mass storage mode, MTP, or Bluetooth technology, you cannot decrypt the files on your computer or on a Bluetooth enabled device. You can use the Roxio Media Manager to preserve encryption in media files that you transfer between your computer and your device. Transfer a file between your device and your computer using the Roxio Media Manager 1. Connect your BlackBerry® device to your computer. 2. On your computer, open the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager. 3. 4. In the Media Manager section, click Start. 5. Click one of the following options: •Manage Pictures • Manage Music • Manage Videos 6. In the left pane, click the Folders tab. 7. Transfer a file between your device and your computer in mass storage mode or MTP Mass storage mode and MTP enable you to transfer files between a media card in your BlackBerry® device and your computer, or your device memory and your computer. 1. Connect your device to your computer. 2. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon. 3. Set the Mass Storage Mode Support or the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) field to On. 4. Press the Menu key. 5. Click Save. 6. On your computer, your device may appear as a removable disk. Drag a file from a location on your computer to the device. To exit mass storage mode or MTP, disconnect your device from your computer. Change how you transfer files between your device and your computer 1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon. 2. Click Memory. 3. Download a file or an attachment To perform this task, your BlackBerry® device must be associated with an email account that uses the BlackBerry® Internet Service or a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server that supports this feature. For more information, contact your wireless service provider or administrator. 1. In a message, in a calendar entry, or on a web page, perform one of the following actions: • If there is only one attachment in a message or calendar entry, press the Menu key. • If there are multiple attachments in a message or calendar entry, highlight an attachment. Press the Menu key. • If you are downloading a file from a web page, press the Menu key. 2. Click Download Attachment or Download File . 3. Click Download . 4. If necessary, click More or More All . 5. Highlight the folder that you want to save the file or attachment in. 6. Press the Menu key. 7. Click Select Here . Stop downloading an attachment 1. In a message, highlight an attachment that you are downloading. 2. Press the Menu key. 3. Click Cancel Download . Receive a media file using Bluetooth technology To perform this task, Bluetooth® technology must be turned on and your BlackBerry® device must be paired with a Bluetooth enabled device. 1. Media shortcuts Depending on the typing input language that you are using, some shortcuts might not be available. Audio and video files • To pause an audio or video file, press the Mute key on the top of your BlackBerry® device. To resume playing an audio or video file, press the Mute key again. • To play the next song, press and hold the Volume Up key on the right side of your device. • To play the previous song, press and hold the Volume Down key on the right side of your device. • If you are using a headset, to turn on the audio boost feature to amplify the volume for songs, ring tones, and videos, press the Volume Up key until audio boost turns on.
