2.Click the View Options pop-up in the Common panel (the down arrow
at the top of the normal Common panel strip).
A pop-up menu with the different channel types appears. By default all channel types
    are viewable (i.e. ticked).
3.You can now untick the channel type(s) that you wish to hide from
view by unticking the corresponding item(s) from the menu.
Regular audio tracks are named “Disk” channels on the menu.
Clicking here... ...opens the View Options pop-up.

•This can also be done using the Channel type show/Hide indicators at
the bottom of the Common panel.
These are lit for visible channel types. Click on the corresponding channel type indica-
tor to hide or show the corresponding channel type in the Mixer.

4.When you have activated “Hideable” status for all channels you wish
to hide, pull down the Global View Options pop-up for the Common
panel and deactivate (untick) the “Hideable” item.
When the “Hideable” item is deactivated (unticked) on the Common panel View

    hidden in the Mixer.
5.To make hidden channels visible again, activate Hideable on the Com-

    Channel View Sets
Channel View Sets are user definable configurations of the Mixer win-
dow. If you are working with a large number of channels, it may be
convenient to be able to hide certain channels (or channel types). Pro-
    ceed as follows:
1.Set up the Mixer the way you wish to store it as a View Set.
The following settings will be stored:
    • Settings for individual channel strips (e. g. narrow or wide mode and whether
the channel strip is hidden or not).
    • The hide/show status for channel types and for the Master section.
2.When you have set up the Mixer as you want it, click the “Create/Se-
lect Channel View Sets” button at the bottom of the Common Panel,
and select “Add” from the pop-up menu that appears.
By selecting from the items on this menu, you can create, load and delete View Sets. If
no View Sets have been stored there will only be two items on the menu; Add and Re-
    move.
The items at the top of the menu in the picture to the right are previously stored
    Channel View Sets.
3.A dialog appears, allowing you to type in a name for the View Set.
Do so and click OK to store the current Mixer View Set.

    							CUBASE LE7 – 136 The Mixer
•You can now return to this saved configuration at any time, by clicking
the Channel View Sets button and selecting it from the pop-up menu.
•To remove a stored Channel View Set, select it from pop-up so that
the View Set is active, then pull down the pop-up again and select Re-
    move.
❐Some remote control devices (such as Steinberg’s Houston) feature this
function, which means that you can use the remote device to switch be-
    tween the Channel View Sets.

    The audio channel strips
All audio related channel types (audio, group, VST Instrument or Re-
Wire) basically have the same channel strip layout. Only audio track
(disk) channels have an Input source pop-up, a Record Enable and
Monitor button (since audio inputs are never routed to group or VST
Instrument channels). VST Instrument channels have an additional
Edit button for opening the instrument’s control panel.

About the Insert/EQ/Send indicators and bypass buttons
The three indicator buttons in each audio channel strip have the fol-
    lowing functionality:
•If an Insert or Send effect or EQ module is activated for a channel, the
    corresponding button is lit.
The effect indicators will be blue, the EQ indicator will be green.
•By clicking these buttons when lit, the corresponding EQ or effects
    section will be bypassed.
Bypass is indicated by yellow buttons. Clicking the button again deactivates bypass.

    The MIDI channel strips
The MIDI channel strips allow you to control volume and pan in your
MIDI instrument (provided that they are set up to receive the corre-
sponding MIDI messages). The settings here are also available in the
Inspector for MIDI tracks (see page 321).
