Trunk/Line data allows you to program settings for lines that affect how the 
Norstar communicates with the public network and other switches. Line 
data allows you to determine how lines (including target lines) will be used 
in the Norstar system.
Some Trunk/Line data settings may not appear on the display during

Copying Trunk and Line data
At the Trunk/Line data ˆ display COPY appears. This allows you to copy 
programming from one line to other lines.
Trunk typeInstaller password required
Trunk type shows the type of Trunk Cartridge or BRI Card on which the 
line is found. It can be Loop, BRI-ST, BRI-U2, or BRI-U4.
Tip - In copying data from a physical trunk to a target 
line (or the other way around), only the data in common

Line typeInstaller password required
This setting specifies how the line is to be used in the system. Press CHANGE 
to select the setting: 
Public, Private to:, or Pool (A to C).
A public line can be accessed by more than one telephone.
A private line can be assigned only to one telephone and  the prime 
telephone for that line. Use

This feature controls whether one Norstar user can select a line in use at 
another telephone to join an existing call. The default setting is Privacy on, 
so that nobody with a Norstar telephone can press a line appearance on 
their telephone to join a call in progress at another telephone.

on, the auxiliary ringer rings for any incoming calls that ring on the line.

settings for each line. The setting is based on the distance between the ICS 
and the terminating switch, and the terminating switch type.

Target lines can be programmed to give a busy tone if all telephones with 
appearances of the target line are engaged. Busy tone only works for BRI 
trunks. You can change this default setting to transfer the call to the Prime
