YoucanentertheserveraddressesbyusingtheserverFQDN,IPv4address,orIPv6 address. 4.IfyouselectedonlyUseDHCPv6SuppliedTimeSettings,orifyouenteredaprimaryand secondarytimeserver,selecttheservertimezonefromtheTimeZonelist. ThissettingdetermineshowiLOadjustsUTCtimetoobtainthelocaltime,andhowitadjusts forDaylightSavingsTime(SummerTime).InorderfortheentriesintheiLOEventLogand IMLtodisplaythecorrectlocaltime,youmustspecifythetimezoneinwhichtheserveris located. IfyouwantiLOtousethetimetheSNTPserverprovides,withoutadjustment,configureiLO touseatimezonethatdoesnotapplyanadjustmenttoUTCtime.Inaddition,thattimezone mustnotapplyaDaylightSavingsTime(SummerTime)adjustment.Thereareseveraltime zonesthatfitthisrequirement.OneexampleistheAtlantic/Reykjaviktimezone,whichis neithereastorwestofthePrimeMeridian,andinwhichthetimedoesnotchangeinthe springorfall.IfyouselecttheAtlantic/Reykjaviktimezone,iLOwebpagesandlogentries willdisplaytheexacttimeprovidedbytheSNTPserver. NOTE:ConfiguretheNTPserverstouseCoordinatedUniversalTime(GMT). 5.ConfiguretheNTPtimepropagationsettingbyselectingorclearingthePropagateNTPTime toHostcheckbox(ML,DL,andSLservers)orthePropagateNTPorOATimetoHostcheck box(BLservers). ThesesettingsdeterminewhethertheservertimeissynchronizedwiththeiLOtimeduringthe firstPOSTafterACpowerisapplied,abladeisinserted,oriLOisresettothedefaultsettings. ForBladeSystemsonly:WhenPropagateNTPorOATimetoHostisenabled,andNTPisnot configuredorfunctional,theservertimeissynchronizedwiththeOnboardAdministratortime. 6.ClickSubmittosavethechangesyoumadeontheSNTPSettingspage. 7.IfyouarefinishedconfiguringtheiLOnetworksettingsontheGeneral,IPv4,IPv6,andSNTP tabs,clickResettorestartiLO. Itmighttakeseveralminutesbeforeyoucanre-establishaconnection. TIP:IfyounoticethatiLOEventLogentrieshaveanincorrectdateortime,makesurethatthe NTPserveraddressesandtimezonearecorrect.TheiLOEventLogincludesentriesthatindicate successorfailurewhencontactingtheNTPserver(s). UsingiLONICauto-selection TheiLONICauto-selectionfeatureenablesiLOtoautomaticallyselectbetweentheiLODedicated NetworkPortandtheiLOSharedNetworkport.Atstartup,iLOsearchesfornetworkactivityon theavailableports,andautomaticallyselectsoneforusebasedonnetworkactivity. Thisfeatureenablesyoutouseacommonpre-configurationforallofyourHPProLiantGen9 servers.Forexample,ifyouhaveseveralservers,somemightbeinstalledintoadatacenterwhere iLOiscontactedbyusingtheiLODedicatedNetworkPort,andothersmightbeinstalledadata centerwhereiLOiscontactedbyusingtheSharedNetworkPort.WhenyouuseiLONIC auto-selection,youcaninstallaserverineitherdatacenterandiLOwillselectthecorrectnetwork port. AtiLOstartup,wheniLONICauto-selectionisenabled: •IfiLOwasjustconnectedtopower,itteststheiLODedicatedNetworkPortfirst. •IfiLOwasjustreset,itteststhelastusediLOnetworkportfirst. •Whentestinganetworkport,ifiLOdetectsnetworkactivity,thenthatportisselectedforuse.If networkactivityisnotfoundafterapproximately100seconds,iLOswitchestotheopposite networkportandbeginstestingthere.iLOalternatestestingbetweentheiLODedicated NetworkPortandtheiLOSharedNetworkPortuntilnetworkactivityisdetected.AniLOreset occurseachtimeiLOswitchesbetweennetworkportsfortestingpurposes.
