    							Adjust Handset Rest
    Ifyourphoneiswall-mounted,youmayneedtoadjustthehandsetresttoensurethatthereceiverdoesnot
    slipoutofthecradle.
    Procedure
    Step 1Removethehandsetfromthecradleandpulltheplastictabfromthehandsetrest.
    Step 2Rotatethetab180degrees.
    Step 3Holdthetabbetweentwofingers,withthecornernotchesfacingyou.
    Step 4Lineupthetabwiththeslotinthecradleandpressthetabevenlyintotheslot.Anextensionprotrudesfrom
    thetopoftherotatedtab.
    Step 5Returnthehandsettothehandsetrest.
    Footstand Adjustment
    TheCiscoUnifiedIPPhoneincludesanadjustablefootstand.Whenyouplacethephoneonadesktopsurface,
    youcanadjustthetiltheighttoseveraldifferentanglesin7.5degreeincrementsfromflatto60degrees.You
    canalsomountthesephonestothewallbyusingthefootstandorbyusingtheoptionallockingwallmount
    kit.
    Toadjustthefootstand,pushinthefootstandadjustmentbuttonandadjustthetilt.

    thesecurityslotonthebackofthephone,andthecablecanbesecuredtoadesktop.
    Thesecurityslotcanaccommodatealockupto20mm.CompatiblelaptopcablelocksincludetheKensington®
    laptopcablelockandlaptopcablelocksfromothermanufacturersthatcanfitintothesecurityslotonthe
    backofthephone.Seethefollowingfigure.

    TAPS Registration
    TAPSmightbeusedeitherforanewphoneortoreplaceanexistingphone.ToregisterwithTAPS,pickup
    thehandset,entertheTAPSextensionprovidedbyyoursystemadministrator,andfollowthevoiceprompts.
    Youmightneedtoenteryourentireextension,includingtheareacode.Afteryourphonedisplaysaconfirmation
    message,hangup.Thephonerestarts.

    AlthoughCiscoSystemsperformslimitedinternaltestingofthird-partyheadsetsforusewiththeCiscoUnified

    devicessuchasmobilephonesandtwo-wayradios,someaudionoiseorechomaystilloccur.Anaudible
    humorbuzzmaybeheardbyeithertheremotepartyorbyboththeremotepartyandtheCiscoUnifiedIP
    Phoneuser.Hummingorbuzzingsoundscanbecausedbyarangeofoutsidesources:forexample,electric
    lights,electricmotors,orlargePCmonitors.
    Insomecases,hummaybereducedoreliminatedbyusingalocalpowercubeorpowerinjector.Note
    TheseenvironmentalandhardwareinconsistenciesinthelocationswhereCiscoUnifiedIPPhonesaredeployed
    meansthatthereisnotasingleheadsetsolutionthatisoptimalforallenvironments.
    Ciscorecommendsthatcustomerstestheadsetsintheirintendedenvironmenttodetermineperformancebefore
    makingapurchasingdecisionanddeployingonalargescale.
    Audio Quality
    Beyondthephysical,mechanicalandtechnicalperformance,theaudioportionofaheadsetmustsoundgood
    totheuserandtothepartyonthefarend.Soundqualityissubjective,andCiscocannotguaranteethe
    performanceofanyheadsets.However,variousheadsetsfromleadingheadsetmanufacturershavebeen
    reportedtoperformwellwithCiscoUnifiedIPPhones.Fordetails,contacttheheadsetmanufacturer.
