Installing the CAPT Software3-8 Setting Up the Printing Environment 3 Installing with Plug and Play IMPORTANT Before installing the CAPT software with Plug and Play, make sure that the printer is properly connected to your computer and that the printer is turned ON. 1Turn ON the computer and start up Windows 98/Me. The [Add New Hardware Wizard] dialog box will appear. ●For Windows Me If the following dialog box appears, proceed to Step 2. If the following dialog box appears, proceed to Step 9.

If the following dialog box appears, click [Next], then proceed to Step 9. 2Select [Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)], then click [Next]. If you are using Windows 98, select [Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended).]. The dialog box for specifying the search location will appear.

(Recommended).], remove a checkmark from [Removable Media (Floppy, CD-ROM…)] and place a checkmark for [Specify a location]. If you are using Windows 98, remove a checkmark from [Floppy disk drives] and [CD-ROM drive], and place a checkmark for [Specify a location]. 5Click [Browse], then select a folder. If your CD-ROM drive is drive [D:], select [D:\English\WinMe], and then click [OK]. If you are using Windows 98, and your CD-ROM drive is drive [D:], select [D:\English\Win98], then click [OK].

The [Add New Hardware Wizard] dialog box will appear. If you are using Windows 98, click [Next]. 9Select [Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)], then click [Next]. If another printer driver has been already installed in the computer, the message will appear. In this case, select [Yes] or [No].

The [Add New Hardware Wizard] dialog box will appear. 18Click [Finish]. The installation of the USB class driver and the printer driver is completed.
Installing the CAPT Software3-16 Setting Up the Printing Environment 3 For Windows 2000 Installing from the CD-ROM 1Make sure that the power switch is turned OFF. IMPORTANT Do not turn ON the printer until Step 8 during installation procedure. 2Connect the printer to the computer with the USB cable. 3Turn ON the computer and start up Windows 2000. 4Log on by a user who has an administrators permission. NOTE Full Control Permission is required for the installation of the printer driver. 5Put the supplied User Software for LBP3200 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. If the CD-ROM is already set in the drive, take it out and put it into again. The CD-ROM menu will appear automatically. NOTE If the CD-ROM menu does not appear automatically, select [Run] under the [Start] menu, enter D:\English\CAP4MNU.exe, and click [OK]. (The CD-ROM drive name is indicated as D: in this manual. The CD-ROM drive name may differ depending on the computer being used.)

The preparation for installation will start. 8When the screen shown below appears, turn ON the printer. In order to turn ON the printer, press of the power switch. The installation of the printer driver and the USB class driver will start automatically. ON OFF
