FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 8-48 Fault code No. 22 SymptomIntake air temperature sensor-open or short circuit detected. Diagnostic code No. 05 Intake air temperature sensor Order Item/components and probable cause Check or maintenance job Reinstate- ment method 1 Installed condition of intake air tem- perature sensor Check the installed area for looseness or pinching.Turning the main switch ON. 2 Connected state of connector Intake air temperature sensor cou- pler Main wire harness ECU coupler Check the coupler for any pins that may have pulled out. Check the locking condition of the coupler. If there is a malfunction, repair it and connect it securely. 3 Open or short circuit in wire harness and/or sub lead. Repair or replace if there is an open or short circuit. Main wire harness (Black/Blue–Black/Blue) (Brown/White–Brown/White) 4 Defective intake air temperature sen- sor. Execute the diagnostic monitor- ing mode. (Code No.05) Replace if defective. Refer to CHECKING THE INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR on page 8-130. Fault code No. 24 Symptom No normal signal is received from the O 2 sensor. Starting the engine, warm- ing it up until the coolant temperature is 60 °C or more, and then run- ning it between 2000–3000 r/ min until the engine trouble indicator turns off. 2 Connected state of connector O 2 sensor coupler Main wire harness ECU coupler Sub-wire harness coupler Check the coupler for any pins that may have pulled out. Check the locking condition of the coupler. If there is a malfunction, repair it and connect it securely. 3 Open or short circuit in wire harness and/or sub lead. Turning the main switch ON (however, the engine cannot be restarted unless the main switch is first turned OFF). 2 Installed state of the lean angle sen- sor. Check the installed direction and condition of the sensor. 3 Defective lean angle sensor. Ex ecute the diagnostic monitor- ing mode. (Code No.08) Replace if defective. Refer to CHECKING THE LEAN ANGLE SENSOR on page 8-123. Fault code No. 33 Symptom Malfunction detected in the primary wire of the ignition coil (#1/#4). Diagnostic code No. 60 EEPROM fault cylinder No. Order Item/components and probable cause Check or maintenance job Reinstate- ment method 1 Malfunction in ECU Set the faulty cylinders exhaust gas volume. 1 Execute the diagnostic mode (Code No. 60) to check the faulty cylinder number. (If mul- tiple cylinders are defective, the numbers of the faulty cyl- inders are displayed alter- nately at 2-second intervals.) 2 Execute the CO adjustment mode and set the exhaust gas volume of the faulty cylinder to “0”. If “0” is displayed, set the numerical value other than “0”. When the malfunction is recovered, reset “0”. Refer to ADJUSTING THE EXHAUST GAS VOLUME (FZ6-N/FZ6-NA/FZ6-S/FZ6- SA) on page 3-8. Replace ECU if it does not recover from the malfunction. Turning the main switch to “ON”. (Readjust the exhaust gas volume after it is reinstated.)
