FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 8-38 8. Verify the operation of the sensor or actuator. Sensor operation The data representing the oper ating conditions of the sensor appears on the trip LCD. Actuator operation Set the engine stop switch to “ ” to operate the actuator. NOTE: If the engine stop switch is set to “ ”, set it to “ ”, and then set it to “ ” again. 9. (If the display value changes, the perfor- mance is OK.) 05 Intake air temperature Displays the intake air tem- perature. Compare the actually mea- sured intake air tempera- ture with the meter display value. (*) 06 Coolant temperature Displays the coolant tempera- ture. Check and ser- vice the items or components that are the probab le cause of the malfunction following the order given. After the check and service of the malfunctioning part has been completed, reset the meter display according to the reinstatement method. Fault code No.: Code number displayed on the meter when the engine failed to work normally. Refer to “Self-Diag- nostic Function table”. Diagnostic code No.: 36 Injector #1/#4 Actuates the injector #1/#4 for five times every second. Illuminates the engine trou- ble warning light.Check the operating sound of the injector #1/#4 five times. 37 Injector #2/#3 Actuates the injector #2/#3 for five times every second.
