							Moving and Repacking the Printer
Phaser® 8560/8860 Printer
5-23 3.Verify that the flag in the exit tray is in the raised position. When the flag is raised, the 
printhead is locked.
4.Wait for the printer to complete the cool-down period for the ink to solidify. The printer 
shuts down when it is cool enough to move.
5.Unplug the printer after the cool-down cycle is complete.

Packing the Printer
Repack the printer using the original packing material and box, or a Xerox repackaging kit. If 
you do not have the original packaging, or are unable to repackage the printer, contact your 
local Xerox service representative. 
Caution: Damage to the printer resulting from improper moving or failure to repackage the 
printer properly for shipment, is not covered by the warranty, service agreement, or Total 
Satisfaction Guarantee. The Total Satisfaction Guarantee is available in the United States and 
Canada. Coverage may vary outside these areas; please contact your local representative for 
details.

Jam at the Exit
To clear a jam at the exit:
1.Open the exit cover.
2.Pull the jammed paper slowly out of the printer. Confirm that all paper fragments are 
removed.

4.Remove any jammed paper.

a.Pull up the latch on the front of the printer to open the front cover.
b.Pull the jammed paper slowly out of the printer. Confirm that all paper fragments are 
removed.

7.If you did not find jammed paper in the previous steps, follow these steps:
a.Pull all the trays completely out of the printer.

are removed.
c.Replace all trays and push each one completely into the printer.

Jam at the Front Cover
To clear a jam at the front cover:
1.Pull up the latch on the front of the printer to open the front cover.
2.Pull the jammed paper slowly out of the printer. Confirm that all paper fragments are
