Scanning Xerox Color 550/560 PrinterUser Guide211 Scanning to an Email Address Scanning to an email address sends scanned documents as attachments to e\ mail. Note: This feature must be enabled by your system administrator. To send a scanned image to an email address: Load the original on the document glass or in the document feeder. 1. On the control panel, press the Services Home button. 2. Touch E-Mail. 3. Specify the recipient using one of these methods: 4. Touch Address Book : touch the desired recipient, then touch To. Touch New Recipient : using the touch screen keyboard, enter the complete email address, tou\ ch Add, then touch Close. Repeat Step 4 to add additional recipients to the list. When all recipie\ nts have been added to the list, touch Close. 5. A default subject is provided for the email. To change the subject, touc\ h Subject. Using the touch screen keyboard, enter the new subject, then touch Save. 6. To change any of the scan settings, touch the four menus at the bottom o\ f the control panel: Color Scanning , 2-Sided Scanning , Original Type and Scan Presets . Touch E-Mail, then touch the E-mail Options tab. 2. Touch File Name or Reply to . Using the touch screen keyboard, delete or modify the text. 3. Touch Save. 4. Note: This feature must be enabled by your system administrator. To use the Scan to PC feature: Load the original on the document glass or in the document feeder. 1. On the printer control panel, press the Services Home button. 2. Touch Scan to PC . 3. Touch Transfer Protocol , then touch FTP, SMB or SMB (UNC Format) , then touch Save. 4. Touch Server, Save in, User Name and Password . For each setting, using the touch screen keyboard, enter the data. Touch Save. 5. Note: If the server name was previously stored, touch Address Book, touch the desired server, touch Add, then touch Close . To change any of the scan settings, touch the four menus at the bottom o\ f the touch screen: Color Scanning, 2-Sided Scanning , Original Type and Scan Presets . The network location of your home directory is defined by the system administrator. Note: This feature must be configured by the system administrator. To use the Scan to Home feature: Load the original on the document glass or in the document feeder. 1. On the printer control panel, press the Services Home button. 2. Touch Network Scanning . 3. Touch the template created by your system administrator. 4. The template defines the scan settings as well as the destination of the\ image. To change any of the scan settings, touch the four menus at the bottom of the touch screen: Color Scanning, 2-Sided Scanning , Original Type and Scan Presets . Note: This feature must be enabled by your system administrator. To use the Store to USB feature: Load the original on the document glass or in the document feeder. 1. Insert a USB Flash Drive in the USB port on the control panel. 2. On the control panel, press the Services Home button. 3. Touch Store to USB . 4. Touch Save in . 5. To select the storage location, touch Save. 7. To change any of the scan settings, touch the four menus at the bottom o\ f the touch screen: Color Scanning , 2-Sided Scanning , Original Type and Scan Presets . For details, see Setting Scan Options . 8. To change any of the additional scanning options, use the three tabs at \ the top of the touch screen. For details, see Additional Scanning Options . 9. To scan the original and store the file, press the green Start button. 10. CAUTION: Do not remove the USB Flash Drive while a file is being stored. Damage t\ o stored files may occur. Touch the desired settings in the four menus at the bottom of the touch \ screen. 3. Setting Use Setting Color Scanning Overrides automatic detection; set to Color, Black + White, or Grayscale. Setting 1-sided or 2-sided originals Use the document feeder to scan 2-sided originals. Select 2-sided scanning to scan both sides of the paper to produce a multi-page image. If your original document cannot be fed through the document feeder, use the document glass to manually perform 2-sided scanning. Setting the Original Type Choose from Photo + Text, Text, or Photo. Xerox Color 550/560 Printer User Guide 220 Scannin g Advanced Settings Advanced settings allow you to control image options, image enhancements\ , scan resolution, file size, photographs, and shadow suppression. To use Advanced Settings: On the printer control panel, press Services Home. 1. Touch the desired scan method. 2. Touch the Advanced Settings tab. 3. Touch the desired setting. 4. Setting Use Image Options Choose from Lighten/Darken, or Sharpness/Soften. Image Enhancement Choose from Auto Suppression, or Contrast. Resolution Choose from 200 to 600 dpi. Shadow Suppression Choose Auto Suppression to hide background color and image bleed through for color scanning. Quality/File Size Choose from: good image quality with small file size, higher image quality with larger file size, or highest image quality with largest fil\ e size.
