Setting SWCA controls
You can assign up to 16 System Wide Call Appearance (SWCA) keys to 
each telephone in a group. This is performed using the Key programming 
heading under 
Terminals&Sets, User Preferences headings. SWCA 
controls are controlled by feature codes

Silent Monitor
You can monitor Hunt group members using a two-line display telephone 
that has been designated as a supervisor telephone. 
You have the choice of silently monitoring the conversation, or providing 
a tone to the other two parties to indicate that the line is being monitored. 
This setting is the same for all supervisor telephones. Refer to the process 
below to determine the setting.

For the direct-dial telephone, indicate whether it is an internal or external 
number.
Use 
≠ and CHANGE to select the setting: Intrnl, Extrnl, or None.

Enter the internal or external number that the system will automatically dial 
when someone enters the direct-dial digit.

CAP/KIM assgnInstaller password required
This setting designates a telephone as a central answering position (CAP). 
The default assignment is 
None. CAP configurations consist of one of the 
following:
M7324 telephones with attached CAP  modules. A maximum of 1 
CAP can be installed in a Norstar system.
T7316E telephones with attached KIMs. The maximum number of 
KIMs on a system, depends on the configuration of the KIM module.

Tips - If CAP modules are attached to a telephone 
that has not been programmed as a CAP, then no CAP 
settings are assigned. 
If a CAP module is relocated with the telephone, the 
settings are retained. 
If you replace a T7324 CAP unit with a T7316E unit, only 
the line assignments will be copied to the new telephone, 
but not to the KIM. The telephone programming will 
revert to the default settings.

Access codes
Access codes are used by the system to direct calls to the correct lines and 
destinations. If the codes conflict, some of the features on the system will 
not work. The table of default settings can help you plan your access codes 
so there are no conflicts. It assumes you are using a fully expanded 
Compact ICS. See the wiring information in the Installation chapter for DN 
numbering for smaller configurations.

This setting allows you to assign a line pool access code for each of the 
three line pools (A to C). These codes are used to specify the line pool you 
wish to use for making an outgoing external call.

External code allows you to assign the external line access code. This code 
is used to allow M7100 and T7100 telephones and Analog Terminal 
Adapters (ATA) to access external lines.
