NDA-30046 Revision 4.0Page 117 Attendant Management System Operations Manual System Configuration Orbit Numbers The Orbit Numbers option on the System Configuration menu specifies the numbers that are announced in paging as the meet-me page numbers. Paged parties can dial these numbers to retrieve their calls without attendant help. Figure 8-6 Orbit Numbers About Orbit Numbers When an attendant parks a call, the AMS finds the next available orbit number, displays it to the attendant under Attendant Status, and inserts it into the parked call record. When the paged party calls the orbit number, the AMS retrieves the parked call record, joins the two parties, and frees the orbit number to be used again. The AMS also frees the orbit number when the attendant joins the parties from the attendant screen. If the parked party is never joined to the paged party, the orbit number is retained for a configured length of time, after which the AMS frees it to be used again. (Refer to Orbit Reuse Time in Timer Configuration Field Definitions on page 111 for more information.) If the parked call is abandoned and the paged party calls the orbit number, the caller is routed to the attendant. Like call queues, orbit numbers must be assigned on the MAT as monitored numbers. Orbit numbers are added by range. A beginning number and an ending number are shown, and all numbers within this range are added to the system. Orbit numbers are deleted one at a time. NDA-30046 Revision 4.0Page 121 Attendant Management System Operations Manual Display Configuration Chapter 9 Display Configuration Introduction The Display Configuration option on the Main Menu defines the fields to be displayed on various data entry screens and display windows in the AMS. Figure 9-1 Display Configuration Sequence of Configuration The AMS database contains different types of records–Employee, Extension, Internal Locations, etc. Each record type in the database contains different information. For instance, the information entered into an employee database record might include the employee’s title, E-mail address, and car phone number. Information entered to an external number record, such as a supplier or contractor, might show an account number or product line. The Input Menu option is first used to select the fields for each record type, defining what information is entered for the record. You can then define which of the input fields are to be displayed in the Source Window and the Directory Lookup Display during call processing. These lines are selected from the fields already defined through the Input Menu. Directory Window–Used to select the three fields from among those defined through the Input Menu option to be displayed at Directory Lookup. Also used to select up to eight fields to be displayed when a Directory Lookup record is expanded. Predefined Messages–Used to define the menu of predefined messages used by an attendant when taking a message on the call processing screen. Page 124NDA-30046 Revision 4.0 Display Configuration Attendant Management System Operations Manual About Input MenuThe Input Menu option displays a list of prompts (e.g., Prompt 1, Prompt 2, etc.) with a pop-up window to the right containing labels for all of the available fields for the selected record type. Every prompt has a default field entry, as shown in Figure 9-2 on page 123, but only the first three field entries, Extension, Sta. Type, and Tenant, are required. Figure 9-3 Database Administration Data Entry Screen Note that the order of selection is the same order in which the field labels appear on the data entry screen under the Database Administration option. When the Extension Input Configuration screen is first displayed, the highlight is positioned on the fourth prompt. To select a different field label for any prompt between Prompt 4 and Prompt 11, move the highlight down the list in the pop-up window until it is positioned on the desired field. Press Enter to accept it. The field label is automatically placed at the highlighted prompt. Continue this process until each desired field label is positioned next to the desired prompt. To keep a field label at the prompt where it already appears, such as Fax # at Prompt 5, select the same field label (Fax #) from the pop-up window when the highlight is positioned on the prompt (Prompt 5). If you do not need to enter data in all eleven prompts, place the cursor in the last prompt choice and press the Space bar. The prompt will become blank and the cursor will move to the previous prompt. When you have finished entering data in the necessary fields, press Esc to save the changes.
