Attendant Management System Operations Manual Extension Maintenance
    Chapter 5 Extension Maintenance
    Introduction
The Extension Maintenance option on the Main Menu is used to add, modify,
delete, view, and print extension assignments in the AMS. Extension data entered
through this option must match assignment data entered for the same extensions at
the PBX Maintenance Administration Terminal (MAT).
    Figure 5-1 Extension Maintenance
    Configurable Fields
The fields displayed for data entry to the extension records can be configured with
the Input Menu option on the Display Configuration menu, which is accessed from
the Main Menu. (See “Fields by Record Type” on page 125 for more information.)
for more information about the fields displayed when this option is selected. Note
that extension entries must be unique. For instance, a CCIS access code should be
entered if it must be “prepended” to the extension during dialing.
View Command The View command displays a selection, or range, of records. The range is
specified by a beginning pattern and an ending pattern. The pattern can be either
part or all of a number. When the
View command is selected, a pop-up window
prompts for the key by which the records are to be retrieved and the range within
which records are to be selected.

    information.)
    Procedure

Use this procedure to add an extension to the AMS database. An extension must
be added through this option before it can be assigned through the Database
    Administration option.

    Leaving Fields Empty

    complete only when the
Enter key has been pressed in every field. Pressing the
    Esc
key before completing a full record erases any data entered up to that point.
    Action Result
On the Main Menu, enter e to select the

Refer to the following sections of this
