    On the Extensions screen, press Enter to 
    select the 
    Add command. (1)The first field is highlighted for data 
    entry. (2) 
    Use the arrow keys to move among the 
    fields, the backspace key to erase data 
    entered in error, and the space bar to 
    toggle among options within a field. 
    Enter data in each field. See Fields by 
    Record Type on page 125 for the field 
    definitions. Press Enter after each entry.The message “
    Do you want to insert 
    this? (Y/N)
    ” appears.

    addition, or 
    Type n and press Enter to cancel the 
    addition.If entry is confirmed, the word 
    “
    Inserted” is displayed in the Attendant 
    Status window to show that the record has 
    been inserted into the database.

    the addition was cancelled. The cursor is

    Delete Extension
    Use this procedure to delete an extension. Make sure to remove an extension from 
    any assignments in the employee or internal database before deleting it from AMS 
    through this option.

    Type part or all of the extension and press 
    Enter. To display all the matching 
    records, press 
    Enter when the blank 
    entry field is highlighted.All of the matching extensions in the 
    database are displayed. (3)
    Using the arrow keys, move the highlight 
    to the desired extension and press 
    Enter. The record type screen appears with the 
    field entries of the selected extensions 
    displayed. The message “

    ” is displayed

    Modify Extension
    Use this procedure to make changes to the field entries of a particular extension. 
    Be sure to coordinate changes to an extension assignment through this option with 
    extension information in the database (i.e., Database Administration option) and at 
    the PBX MAT. All of these assignments for an extension should correspond to one 
    another.

    View Extensions
    Use this procedure to display selected extensions for on-screen viewing or printing.

    Range Values
    The first digit of the beginning value must be smaller than the first digit of the 
    ending value. For instance, if “41” is entered as the beginning value and “299” is 
    entered as the end, the search will fail because 4 is greater than 2.

    On the record type screen, enter v to 
    select the 
    View command. (1)A window appears, requesting the search 
    key and the starting and ending values, or 
    keys, for the search range. (2)
    Type the first record value and press 
    Enter and then the last and press 
    Enter to 
    give the range of records to be viewed. All records within the range shown are 
    displayed. (3) 
    Use the 
    DownPage command to move 
    forward one page, the 
    UpPage 
    command to move back one page, the 
    Top command to move to the beginning 
    of the display, and the 
    Bottom command 
    to move to the end of the display.
    Search the Display: 
    Enter 
    s to select the Search command. At 
    the prompt, type the desired pattern and 
    press 
    Enter.All occurrences of the pattern on that 
    page are highlighted.
    Print the Display: 
    Enter 
    p to select the Print command. At 
    the prompt, enter 
    f to print the whole file 
    or
     s to print just the screen and press 
    Enter.There is a pause while the file is sent to 
    the printer. Then the command line 
    returns.
    To exit the display, enter 
    q (quit). The Extensions screen reappears, and the

    Use this procedure to print all or part of the AMS extension assignments.

    Chapter 6 Login Name Maintenance
    Use the Login Name Maintenance option on the Main Menu to add, delete, and 
    modify login names and passwords and to print and view attendant names. Login 
    names are also used when generating reports in the AMS.

    Login Name Maintenance Attendant Management System Operations Manual
    Introduction
    Use this option to maintain names, passwords, and access privileges for all 
    attendants. You can add, delete, change, view, and print any number of attendant 
    names. There must be at least one supervisor login name and password in the 
    system at all times. AMS is installed with a default supervisor login name and 
    password, whereas all attendant names and passwords must be entered via this 
    option.
    Search FunctionAMS can search for a specific name from the full list of attendant names when you 
    enter the full attendant name. Names are not retrieved and displayed from partial 
    entries.
    Procedure

    On the Main Menu, enter l to select the 
    Login Name Maintenance option. (1)The first Attendant Login Name screen 
    displays. (2)
    Refer to the following sections of this 
    chapter for descriptions of each 
    function provided by the new command 
    line.
    To exit the Extensions screen, enter 
    q 
    (quit).The Main Menu reappears.
