Then type the password, up to ten alphanumeric characters, and press Enter. Note:You will not see the password when you type it. The message “Do you want to insert this? (Y/N)” is displayed. Ty p e y and press Enter to confirm the addition, or Type n and press Enter to cancel the addition.If entry is confirmed, the word “ Inserted” is displayed in the Attendant Status window to show that the record has been inserted into the database. “ Record not inserted” is displayed if the addition was cancelled. This will prevent anyone from using this operator name to log in to the AMS. Figure 6-3 Delete an Attendant Search Function The AMS can search for a specific name from the full list of attendant names when you enter the full attendant name. Names are not retrieved and displayed from partial entries. The second Attendant Login Names screen displays the list of attendants by name with their Database Access and Supervisor Privileges status. (3) Use the DownPage command to move forward one page, the UpPage command to move back one page, the Top command to move to the beginning of the display, and the Bottom command to move to the end of the display. Search the Display: Enter s to select the Search command. At the prompt, type the full name or number of the desired operator and press Enter.The display moves to highlight the desired name or number. Print the Display: Enter p to select the Print command. At the prompt, enter f to print the whole file or s to print just the screen and press Enter.There is a pause while the file is sent to the printer. Then the command line reappears. To exit the second Attendant Login Names screen, enter q (quit).The first Login Name Maintenance screen reappears with the cursor positioned on the command line.

Page 102NDA-30046 Revision 4.0 Real–time Screening Attendant Management System Operations Manual Display Fields The field information displayed on the Real-Time screen is updated every second. The fields in the display are: Att–Number of the attendant station. Name–Name of the attendant currently logged onto the station. Status–Status of the attendant at the station Idle, RBT - hearing ring-back tone or originating a call RBTH - transferring a call to an external extension that has not been answered, so that the source caller is on hold Conn - connected to one caller Dest - connected to the destination Src - talking to the source caller with the destination on hold Conf - in conference call with both source and destination Time–Number of minutes that the attendant has been in that status. Source–Current source caller. Type–Type of call that the attendant is now processing. Dest–Current destination caller. Type–Destination caller’s equipment type. Cnt–Number of calls this attendant has processed since login; this can vary due to recalls. Note: NEC recommends that this screen not be left unattended because it consumes processing power otherwise used in real-time operations. Procedure Action Result On the Main Menu, enter r to select the Real-Time Screening option. (1)The Real-Time Screening display appears with changes in attendant status updated every second. (2) Use the down arrow and up arrow keys to see the screens previous and following screens. Data for ten attendants is displayed on each screen, with five screens total. To exit the Real-Time Screening display, enter q (quit).The Main Menu reappears.
NDA-30046 Revision 4.0Page 103 Attendant Management System Operations Manual System Configuration Chapter 8 System Configuration The System Configuration option on the Main Menu modifies configurable parameters that affect AMS functions. Figure 8-1 System Configuration Menu Options The configurable parameters are grouped into three categories; Basic, Announcement, and Timer. Each category is an option on the System Configuration menu, which has the following options: Basic Configuration–Parameters for data storage and management. Announcement Configuration–Announcement trunks for held and parked calls, delays, and uncovered night hours. Timer Configuration–Configuration of various time-out values that govern the length of time a call can be parked, camped-on, remain ringing, etc. Queue Assignment–Assignment of queues to incoming routes and monitored numbers to enable attendants to receive incoming calls. Orbit Numbers–Assignment of the numbers to be announced in paging for the paged parties to call to retrieve their calls automatically. Each of these parameter categories is discussed in a section of this chapter. Refer to the following sections of this chapter for descriptions of each function provided by the new command line. To exit the Basic Configuration screen, enter q (quit).The System Configuration Menu appears. Action Result Enter m to select the Modify command.The first field is highlighted. Use the arrow keys to move among fields, the space bar to toggle between field options, and the backspace key to erase previous entries. Type new data according to the field definitions listing in the following section, pressing Enter after each entry.After the last Enter, the message “Do you want to save changes? (Y/N)” appears. This must contain a pound sign (#). Message Deletion Time The amount of time in hours after which AMS deletes messages that have been delivered. Max Records from Queries The maximum number of records that are displayed as a result of a Directory Lookup. Operator Option Screen Whether an attendant with no supervisory or database privileges should first enter one option screen or go straight into call processing: Ye s: Will have one option menu first. This option saves time if you need to go offline and then right back online due to error. No: Go right into call processing after entering the name and password. There is one less keystroke than if the answer is “yes.” Default Transfer Type The type of transfer, whether direct or screened, that serves as the default selection. Multiple Recall Whether timed-out calls are sent to all attendants or are recalled to the individual attendant, using the following options: Ye s: Send to all attendants as xxxxxT.O. incoming calls. No: Recall to individual attendant. If the individual attendant is not logged in, the call will be routed to another attendant. Audio Call Indication Whether the attendant CRT is to sound a beep.
