    lDisplay Fields tab
    lCriteria Fields tab
    lFormat Criteria tab.
    The next sections provide details about how to use each of these tabs to build a

    Display Fields Tab5
    The first step in building a Custom Query is to click on the Display Fields tab. The 
    Display Fields tab provides a list of data elements on the left side of the screen. 
    From this tab, a custom query can be created. 
    To begin building a custom query from the Display Fields tab, do the following:
    1. From the Custom Query Builder frame, select the Display Fields tab. The 
    following screen displays:

    2. Highlight the data elements in the left column list that you want to include in 
    the right column list. These are the data elements that you want to gather 
    information on for your query.
    3. Choose the Add, Remove, Add All, or Remove All to add or remove the right 
    column list:
    lAdd button—allows you to add a new display field to the list in the right 
    column list. 
    lRemove button—allows you to remove fields displayed in the list on the 
    right.
    lAdd All button—allows you to add all of the fields displayed to the list on 
    the right.
    lRemove All button—allows you to remove all of the fields displayed in the 
    list on the right.
    4. To reorder the elements selected in the list (on the right side), use the up arrow 
    or down arrow buttons or use the drag and drop functionality.
    5. To continue, click on the Criteria Fields tab.

    The second step in building a Custom Query is to select the Criteria Fields tab. The 
    Criteria Fields tab works similarly to the Display Fields tab. However, the 
    information on the Criteria Fields tab is used to narrow your search of the data 
    elements previously selected on the Display Fields tab.
    To continue building a custom query from the Criteria Fields tab, do the following:
    1. From the Custom Query Builder frame, click on the Criteria Fields tab.
    2. Highlight the item(s) in the list (on the left) that you want to include.

    The list (on the right side) establishes the columns (and column order) of the 
    query results displayed. The items selected for the display are shown in the 
    exact order selected.
    3. Choose the Add, Remove, Add All, or Remove All from the list:
    lAdd button—allows you to add a new display field to the list on the right.
    lRemove button—allows you to remove fields displayed in the list on the 
    right.
    lAdd All button—allows you to add all of the fields displayed to the list on 
    the right.
    lRemove All button—allows you to remove all of the fields displayed in the 
    list on the right.
    4. To reorder the elements selected in the lists, use the up arrow or down arrow 
    buttons or use the drag and drop functionality.
    5. To continue, click on the Format Criteria tab.

    The final step in building a custom query is to define the parameters of the query 
    criteria. As with all CentreVu Explorer II queries (Custom, Standard, and Explorer 
    Classic) a wide range of conditional variables (And/Or, , >=,

    2. Select the Query Fields in the pull-down menu. To get to subsequent items on 
    the form, click on the first item and then arrow down to select the second item. 
    See the following example:
    3. In the text box(es), you can either:
    lEnter the appropriate values (for example, 180, 30, Y) you want to use to 
    define the elements
    lLeave the settings as user input to let the criteria be set at run time.

    4. Select the Group by Parenthesis displayed in the pull-down menu. Complex 
    queries are easily created by using “groupings” with the parentheses functions 
    ( ) or the combination of “AND” and “OR” functions. These fields can be used 
    as many times as desired. See the following example:
    5. Choose the Add or Delete button:
    lAdd button—allows you to add rows.

    6. Select the Conditional Operators (=, ¹, >, =, =

    7. When you are finished, select either the OK or Reset button. 
    lOK button—allows you to save the custom queries. The top of the Query 
    Builder frame asks for a name under which to save the custom query. The 
    Save Query feature is extremely useful for re-using complex queries 
    tailored to a specific VDN, split/skill, or CMS. If you press the OK button, 
    the following screen displays:
    lReset button—allows you to reset the Format Criteria. If you wish to delete 
    all of the work completed in this tab, this button allows you to erase the 
    entries and start over.
