2Remove the jammed paper.
If the paper tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
3Pull out the cassette in use.

5Push the cassette back in place securely.

Multi Purpose Tray
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the multi purpose tray.
1Remove all papers from the multi purpose tray.

2If paper is jammed inside, pull the paper toward you 
to remove.
3Pull up left cover 1 lever and open the left cover 1.
4Remove the jammed paper.
If the paper tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
5Open the feed guide B1.

6Remove the jammed paper.

7Pull out cassette 1.
8Turn the lower green knob (B2) to the left at least 
10 times.
9Remove the jammed paper.
If you cannot remove the paper, proceed with the 
next step.

10Pull out paper feed unit (B3).
11Open paper feed unit cover (B4) and remove the 
jammed paper.
12Push paper feed unit (B3) back in place, and push 
the cassette back in place securely.
13Press the specified position to close left cover 1.
Inside the Left Covers 1, 3 and 4
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams inside left cover 1, 3 or 4 when using the optional paper feeder.
1Open the left cover where the paper is jammed 
inside.

Duplex Unit
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the duplex unit.
1Pull up left cover 1 lever and open the left cover.

4If the left cover 2 indicator is flashing, open left 
cover 2.
5Remove the jammed paper.
If the paper tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
6Close the left cover 2.
7Pull out cassette 1 and remove the jammed paper.
If the paper tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
8Push cassette 1 back in place securely.

Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the fixing unit.

CAUTION: The fixing unit is extremely hot. Take 
sufficient care when  working in this area, as there is a 
danger of getting burned.
4Remove the jammed paper.

5If jammed paper is seen through the paper ejection 
slot, pull it toward your side to remove it.
6Push fuser cover back in place, and press the 
specified position to close left cover 1.
Optional Document Processor
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the optional document processor.
1Remove the original from the original tray.
