10-2Copying Chapter 10 Documents You Can Copy For information on the types of documents you can copy, their requirements, and details on loading documents, see Chapter 4. Making Copies Follow this procedure to make copies: 1Adjust the paper delivery selector if necessary (1 p. 5-7). 2Load the document, face down in the ADF (1 p. 4-3). •To adjust the contrast, see p. 7-3.(Currently used memory) (Standby to scan) 3Press Start/Copy. 4Press Image Qualityrepeatedly until the resolution setting you want is displayed. •You can select from the following: – TEXT Suitable for most text documents. – PHOTO Suitable for documents that contain photographs. 5To make a reduced copy of your document, use ∂ or ¨to select the reduction percentage you want. •You can select from the following: – 70% –80% –90% –100%COPY 80% 01 PHOTO COPY 100% 01 DOCUMENT READY MEMORY USED 0%
Chapter 10 Copying10-3 Copying 6If you want to make multiple copies, use the numeric buttons to enter the number of copies. •You can make up to 99 copies. n The machine copies at 400 ×300 dpi for single copies, and at 200 × 300 dpi for multiple copies. For best quality output, make one copy at a time. 7Press Start/Copyto begin copying. •To cancel copying, press Stop/Reset. You may then need to open the operation panel to remove the document from the ADF (1 p.13-2). n You will be unable to make multiple copies if MEMORY FULLappears in the LCD. Print, send, or delete any documents you no longer need to be stored in the machine’s memory (1 p.9-4), then start again. Also, if you are copying multiple pages with many graphics, separate the pages into smaller stacks or make the desired number of copies one at a time as needed. COPYING COPY 80% 05

Shows recent facsimile transactions performed by your machine. You can enable or disable automatic printing of this report after every 20 transactions. You can also manually set the machine to print it. Prints after transmission of a document. You can enable or disable this feature, or set the machine to print a report only when an error occurs. You can also set the machine to print the first page of the document under the report to remind you of the contents of the document. Prints after reception of a document. You can enable or disable this feature, or set the machine to print a report only when an error occurs. Prints after sending the same document to several fax numbers, or after polling multiple fax numbers in one operation. Lists the documents currently stored in the machine’s memory. Prints automatically when power is restored to the machine after a power failure. Lists the documents deleted from memory. Lists the numbers and names registered under one-touch speed dialing buttons. Lists the numbers and names registered under coded speed dialing codes. ACTIVITY REPORT
The machine is factory-set to automatically print an ACTIVITY REPORT after every 20
transactions. If you want to print an ACTIVITY REPORT before it is automatically
printed, follow this procedure:
1Press Function.
2Press Report.
3Press Set.
•The machine prints an ACTIVITY
REPORT.
Transactions in an ACTIVITY REPORT are listed chronologically.
Sending transactions are numbered between 0001 and 4999, and receiving
transactions are numbered between 5001 and 9999. When 4999 and 9999 are reached
respectively, numbering reverts to 0001 and 5001 respectively.

•If you prefer your machine not to print an ACTIVITY REPORT after every 20 transactions,
disable the
ACTIVITY REPORTsetting (1p.14-5).
•Please note that only one transaction number (TX/RX NO.) is assigned when you send a
document to several fax numbers in one operation.
