    Note:If you have pictures, videos, and other data saved to your device storage space, save it to your 
    media card or create a device backup file on your computer to make sure that you donht lose the data.

    Turnonautomaticupdatesforyourdevicesoftware
    When a software update for your BlackBerry device is available and your device is connected to a Wi-Fi 
    network, software updates are automatically downloaded and installed on your device. When this 
    feature is turned on, you arenht notified when an update starts installing, but you may be asked to restart 
    your device to complete the installation.
    1.On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.

    If you restore your BlackBerry 10 device to its default settings, BlackBerry Link deletes all of the data 
    and third-party applications from your device. Any IT policies that are applied to your device are also 
    deleted. After you restore your device to its default settings, you can run the setup application on your 
    device to set up the device again.
    Before you begin, you should back up your data so that you have a copy of the data on your computer.
    CAUTION:You canht stop the process of restoring your device to its default settings after it starts. If you 
    reset your device, the process continues after the device restarts.
    1.On your computer, open BlackBerry Link.
    2.Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
    3.At the side of the BlackBerry Link window, click your device.
    4.Do one of the following:
    tOn a Windows computer, click BackUpRestore. Click FactoryReset.
    tOn a Mac computer, click BlackBerryLink >Preferences. Click Reload> Reload.
    Batteryandpower
    Your BlackBerry device includes a number of features designed to help monitor your battery life and get 
    the most out of your device. You can learn how to extend battery life, monitor which apps are using the 
    most battery power, and charge your device in the most efficient way.

    Press and hold the Power/Lock key on the top of your BlackBerry device.

    When you put your BlackBerry device in standby mode, the device screen backlight turns off and the 
    screen locks. Wireless connections and clock alarms arenht affected.

    To wake up your device, swipe up from the bottom of the device screen.

    							Restartorresetyourdevice
    If your BlackBerry device is running slower than usual or not responding, turning off and turning back on 
    your device might help to solve the problem.
    Do one of the following:
    tTo restart your device, press and hold the Power/Lock key on the top of your device. Tap .
    tTo reset your device, press and hold the Power/Lock key for ten seconds.
    Chargeyourdevice
    Before you start using your BlackBerry device, you should charge it because the battery that came with 
    your device isnht fully charged.
    Charge your device using the charger provided by BlackBerry in the box that your device came in. You 
    can also charge your device using a USB cable connected to a computer, but charging might take 
    longer.
    CAUTION:Other chargers might not provide adequate power and might damage your device.
    Hold the cable with the BlackBerry logo () facing the front of the device, and connect the cable into 
    the USB port on your device. Plug the charger into a power outlet.
     
     
    Keepingyourbatterycharged
    Your BlackBerry device uses a lithium-ion battery. To maximize your use of this type of battery, when 
    possible, do the following:
    tAvoid using your device while iths charging to help it charge faster.
    tCharge your device often, even when the battery charge isnht low.
    tAvoid charging, using, or storing your device in extremely hot or cold places, such as on a vehicle 
    dashboard.

    							tAvoid leaving your device turned off with a low battery power level for an extended period of time.
    tIf your device has a removable battery and you arenht using your device for more than a few days, 
    partially charge the battery. You can then remove the battery and store it in a dry place at room 
    temperature to conserve battery power.

    The battery power level icons appear at the top of the home screen on your BlackBerry device.
    IconDescriptionThe battery is charging.The battery is fully charged.The battery isnht charging because the power 
    source isnht providing enough power. Use the 
    charger that came with your

    charge the battery.
    The battery charge is low, and your wireless 
    connections might turn off to conserve power. If 
    the battery charge gets too low, your device might 
    turn off. Save any work in progress and charge 
    your device.There is a problem with the battery, and the 
    battery might need to be replaced. Only use a 
    battery that is approved by 
    BlackBerry for your 
    device model.

    Tip:To quickly check the percentage of battery power remaining, from the bottom of the screen, slide 
    your finger up to the middle of the screen. The battery percentage appears in the upper-left corner of the 
    screen.

    You can check how much battery time and power you have remaining, how much device memory is being used, and how much storage space is available. You can also monitor which apps and services 
    are using the most battery power, device memory, storage space, or CPU resources, and you can close 
    or delete some apps to help save battery power or improve the device performance.
    1.On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
    2.Tap  Settings > AppManager > DeviceMonitor.
    3.To monitor different types of device statistics, tap .
    4.Tap a type of statistics.
    Tip:On the Battery and CPU screens, you can view device and usage statistics from different time 
    frames. To change the time frame for the statistics on the Battery or CPU screens, at the top of the 
    screen, tap 
    . Tap a time frame.

    1.On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
    2.Tap  Settings > AppManager > DeviceMonitor.
    3.Tap an app or service.

    If you notice that an open app is using a lot of battery power, device memory, or CPU resources, you  can close it and end all processes associated with the app. You can also delete some apps permanently 
    from the Device Monitor screen. Some apps must be installed and open at all times, so they canht be 
    closed or deleted.
    1.On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
    2.Tap  Settings > AppManager > DeviceMonitor.
    3.Tap an app.
    4.Do one of the following:
    tTo close the app, tap .
    tTo permanently delete the app, tap .

    A solid red LED can indicate that your BlackBerry device is turning on or restarting.
     
     
    A flashing yellow LED can indicate that the battery power level is low and your device is charging.
     
     
    A solid green LED can indicate that your device is plugged into a charger and that charging is complete.
    UsingBatterySavingMode
    If your battery power level is draining, you can set up Battery Saving Mode to turn on automatically and help make your battery last longer when you need it most! When Battery Saving Mode is turned on, your  device automatically adjusts various settings to help save battery power. If you need to save more 
    battery power, you can also adjust additional settings. For example, you can choose to turn off data 
    services or location services to save more battery power.
    By default, Battery Saving Mode turns on automatically when your battery power level is 20% or lower. 
    You can also turn on Battery Saving Mode manually at any time.

    You can change when Battery Saving Mode turns on automatically, and choose some of the settings 
    that are adjusted when Battery Saving Mode turns on.
    1.On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
    2.Tap  Settings > BatterySavingMode.
    3.Do any of the following:
    tTo set the power level that your battery must reach before Battery Saving Mode turns on 
    automatically, drag the slider at the top of the screen left or right.
    tTo change which settings are adjusted when Battery Saving Mode turns on, select or clear any of  the checkboxes.
    tTo stop Battery Saving Mode from turning on automatically, turn off the TurnonBatterySaving
    ModeAutomatically

    After Battery Saving Mode turns on automatically, Battery Saving Mode is automatically turned off when 
    you start charging your device. You can also turn off Battery Saving Mode manually.
    1.On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
    2.Tap  Settings > BatterySavingMode.
    3.Turn off the BatterySavingMode switch.

    Battery life varies depending on how you use your BlackBerry device. To help battery power last longer, 
    here are some considerations:
    Dimthescreen
    Prolong battery life by changing your device settings to dim the screen.
    Do any of the following:
    tTo adjust the screen brightness, choose a dark-colored wallpaper, or change the screen lock 
    timeout, on the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap 
     Settings > Display.
    tTo automatically lock your device and dim the screen when iths in a BlackBerry case or holster, on the 
    home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap 
     Settings > SecurityandPrivacy > 
    DevicePassword > LockDeviceWhenHolstered.
    Decreasevolume
    Do any of the following:
    tTo decrease the device volume, use the volume keys on the right side of your device.
    tTo adjust other volume settings such as application volume or notifications, on the home screen, 
    swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap 
     Settings > MainVolume or Notifications.
    Closeapps
    Increase how long a single charge lasts by closing any apps or features that you finished using so that 
    they arenht continuously running in the background. Some features consume more battery power than 
    others. Close or turn off these apps and features when you donht use them: The camera, the 
    BlackBerry 
    Browser
    , GPS, and Bluetooth technology.
