arm. Carefully pry the wiper arm from the shaft. 3. To install: Ensure that the wiper motor pivot shaft is in the park position. 4. Position the wiper arm over the shaft and firmly push it on until it stops. 5. Lower the wiper blade/arm against the glass. 6. The blade is properly positioned when it firmly contacts the windshield wiper arm stop. If it does not, remove the arm again and reposition it so that it does. Remove the linkage access cover retaining screws ... ... and remove the cover Remove the negative battery cable. 3. Remove the right pivot nut and allow the linkage to drop into the cowl. 4. Remove the linkage access cover, located on the right side of the dash panel near the wiper motor. 5. Reach into the access hole and disconnect the wiper motor linkage clip from the motor shaft Remove the clip. Reach through the access cover opening and unsnap the wiper motor clip. 6. Push the clip away from the linkage until it clears the nib on the crank pin. Then, push the clip off the linkage. 7. ... and the ground wire from the wiper motor attaching stud Remove the wiper linkage from motor crank pin. 8. Disconnect the wiper motors wiring connector. 9. remove the wiper motors three attaching screws and remove the motor. 10. Install the motor and attach the three attaching screws. Tighten to 60-65 inch lbs. (6.7-7.3 Nm). 11. Connect the wiper motors wiring connector. 12. Install the clip completely on the right linkage. Make sure the clip is completely on. 13. Install the left linkage on the wiper motor crank pin. 14. Install the right linkage on the wiper motor crank pin and pull the linkage on to the crank pin until it snaps. 15. The clip is properly installed if the nib is protruding through the center of the clip. Reinstall the right wiper pivot shaft and nut. 1. Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition ON. Turn the wiper switch off so the wiper motor will park, then turn the ignition OFF. Replace the right linkage access cover. 2. Install the right wiper blade and arm. 3. Install the wiper motor in position and connect the electrical leads. 6. Install the liftgate trim. Connect the negative battery cable. 7. Windshield Washer Motor REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Front and/or Rear Windshield washer fluid reservoir mounting for 293-99 models-291-92 models similar but different location Click to enlarge WARNING Never operate the washer fluid pump without fluid in the reservoir. Repeatedly running the reservoir dry will ruin the pump. The front washer fluid reservoir is connected to the coolant overflow tank, which will be removed as an assembly. Disconnect the electrical plug and hose from the washer fluid reservoir. Also, if removing the front washer pump, disconnect the coolant overflow hose from its reservoir. 1. Remove the reservoir attaching screws and lift the assembly from the vehicle. 2. Drain and discard the contents of the washer fluid reservoir. 3. HOW TO USE THIS BOOK Windshield Washer Motor 701

Use a pair of pliers and grasp the pump on one wall around the electrical terminals. Pull out the motor and seal from the reservoir. 5. HOW TO USE THIS BOOK 702 REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Pull the washer pump from the reservoir using a pair of pliers as shown To install: Thoroughly clean the reservoir pump chamber and ensure that there is no foreign material in it. 6. Lubricate the outside of the pump seal with a dry lubricant, such as graphite powder. 7. If equipped, align the small tab on the motor with the notch on the reservoir. 8. Install the motor so that the seal seats against the bottom of the chamber. 9. Use a 1 inch (25.4mm) socket, preferable a 12-point socket, hand press the retaining ring securely against the motor end plate. 10. Install the reservoir assembly. 11.
