Note: lIf the caller does not enter the mailbox number in step 2, the message will be recorded in the common memory. 21 How incoming messages are recorded in a mailbox This unit has two mailbox memories. Your caller can leave a private message in a specific mailbox. Only the person who knows the password can retrieve a message from a mailbox. This feature is useful when you share this unit with other people. To use a mailbox 1.Record your own TAD/FAX greeting message (p. 63). Suggested message: “This is (your name). We are unable to answer right now. To send a fax, start transmission. To leave a message, speak after the beep. To leave a private message, press and the desired mailbox number 1 or 2. Thank you.” 2.Record your own mailbox greeting message if necessary (p. 73). Suggested message: “This is (personal name). 77 Option Transferring recorded messages to another telephone! To use this feature, program the transfer telephone number first (feature #60 on page 86) and set the unit to TAD/FAX mode. This feature allows your unit to call a designated telephone number each time an incoming voice message is recorded. You can retrieve the transferred message during the same call using the remote operation. 1. An incoming voice message is recorded in your unit. 2. Your unit calls the transfer telephone number. 3. Answer the call with the transfer telephone. 4. Your unit will play the transfer greeting message. lThis message can be changed (p. 78). 5. Enter the remote operation ID (feature #11 on page 81). 6. Retrieve the message using the remote operation (p. 69–71). Pre-recorded message: This is a telephone answering system. Please enter your remote ID for remote operation.
