    use (off the base unit).

    Whenever you place the handset on the base
    unit, the unit will automatically select one of a
    million security codes. These codes help to avoid
    unauthorized use of your telephone line by
    another cordless telephone.
    Place the handset on the cradle of the base unit
    for about 4 hours before initial use.
    Slowly place the handset on the cradle vertically

    Setting the auto talk feature)
    The auto talk feature allows you to answer a call by lifting the handset off the base unit without
    pressing . This feature is set to on as a default. If you are subscribed to the Caller ID
    service, and want to view caller’s information on the handset display before answering a call,
    turn this feature off.
