Forwarding faxes
Use the fax-forwarding feature if you are going to be away but still want to receive your faxes. There are three
fax-forwarding settings:
Off—(Default)
Forward—The printer sends the fax to the designated fax number.
Print & forward—The printer prints the fax and then sends it to the designated fax number.
To set up fax forwarding:
1From the desktop, double-click the Productivity Studio icon.
2From the Settings area of the Welcome screen, click Fax History and Settings.

Managing faxes using the computer
Customizing settings using the Fax Setup Utility
You can adjust the fax settings in the Fax Setup Utility. These settings apply to the faxes you send or receive.
1From the desktop, double-click the Productivity Studio icon.
2Click Fax History and Settings.
The Fax Solutions Software screen appears.
3Click Adjust speed dial list and other fax settings.

4Click each tab, and change the settings as needed.

–You can include a calling card number as part of the fax number.

Maintaining the printer
Understanding the Maintenance menu
The Maintenance menu lets you check ink levels and handle various tasks related to print cartridges.

3Close the black cartridge carrier lid.
4Remove the tape from the back and bottom of the color cartridge, and insert the cartridge in the right carrier.
Warning—Potential Damage: Do not touch the gold contact area on the back or the metal nozzles on the
bottom of the cartridge.
5Close the color cartridge carrier lid.
6Close the scanner unit, making sure to keep your hands out from underneath the scanner unit.

Removing a used print cartridge
1Make sure the printer is on.
2Lift the scanner unit.
The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the printer is busy.
3Press down on the cartridge carrier latch to raise the cartridge carrier lid.
4Remove the used print cartridge.
Note: If you are removing both cartridges, repeat step 3 and step 4 for the second cartridge.
