Copying
Making a copy
You can make a copy using the Automatic Document Feeder or the scanner glass. Use the scanner glass for copies
requiring optimal reproduction.
1Load paper.
2Load an original document faceup into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) or facedown on the scanner glass
in the upper left corner.
Note: Do not load postcards, photos, small items, transparencies, photo paper, or thin media (such as magazine

one, two, or four pages per sheet.
LayoutChoose how many copies of an image to print on a page. You can choose
one, four, nine, or 16 per page.

only, or line drawing.

Making a color or black-and-white copy
1Load paper.

Copying multiple pages on one sheet (N-Up)
You can fit multiple pages of separate images or pages on one sheet of paper. The scanned images are rotated and
resized to fit on the printed page.
1Load paper.
2Load an original, multiple-page document faceup into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), with the first page
on top. If you are loading on the scanner glass, load the first page of the original document facedown in the upper
left corner.
