3Load the Index Card size media so that the edge of the media
is aligned with the front side of the paper cassette.
    CAUTION
When loading paper, take care not to cut your hands with the edges of the
    paper.
    IMPORTANT
If you use Index Card size media that has been poorly cut, multiple sheets of that
may be fed at once. In this case, fan the Index Card size media thoroughly, and
then align the edges of the stack on a hard, flat surface.

6Hold down the Index Card size media as shown in the figure,
make sure that the stack does not exceed the load limit marks

Make sure that there is sufficient space between the hooks of the paper guides
and the stack of the Index Card size media. If there is no sufficient space, slightly
reduce the amount of Index Card size media.
    IMPORTANT
The following shows the paper capacity of the paper cassette. Be sure that the
paper stack does not exceed the load limit marks. If the paper stack exceeds the
load limit marks, this may result in misfeeds.
    - Plain paper Approx. 250 sheets (When plain paper that weighs 64 g/m
    2 is
    used)
    - Heavy paper Approx. 170 sheets (When heavy paper that weighs 128 g/m

Loading Envelopes in the Paper Source
Loading Envelopes in the Paper Source
This section describes the procedure for loading envelopes in the paper source.
The paper source that you can load envelopes is the paper cassette and manual
feed slot. If you want to print continuously, load the envelopes in the paper cassette.
When printing only one envelope that is different from those loaded in the paper
cassette, load the envelope in the manual feed slot.
    IMPORTANT
•For more details on the usable envelopes, see Usable Paper, on p. 2-2.
•For details on handling the manual feed slot or paper cassette, see Precautions for
Handling the Manual Feed Slot or Paper Cassette, on p. 2-12.
Loading Envelopes in the Paper Cassette
Load envelopes in the paper cassette using the following procedure.
•When loading envelopes at sizes of DL, COM10, C5, or Monarch in the paper
cassette, load them in portrait orientation so that the printing side is facing up and
the flap is toward the right of the printer when viewed from the front.
