Set up automatic dialing for voice mail access You can set up your smartphone to access your voice mail automatically, by storing the voice mail password. With the voice mail password stored you don't have to enter it manually each time you retrieve your voice mail messages. To access your voice mail messages you need the voice mail access number and a password. The voice mail access number is the phone number you call to access your voice mail account, and is usually loaded onto the smartphone by your wireless service provider. Tip: With some voice mail systems you need to add a longer pause before entering the password. To determine if this is required, call your voice mail account and take note of the amount of time that passes before being prompted to enter the password.1.From the home screen, press the key. 2.Press the key > Options > Voice Mail. 3.Enter your voice mail access number and the password, if desired. To add additional time before the password, press the key. •To add one or more additional pauses position the cursor at the beginning of the Password field and then select Add Pause. This option is for adding a short period between the voice mail access number and the password. •To be prompted before sending the password, position the cursor at the beginning of the Password field and then select Add Wait. This option is for adding a longer period between the voice mail access number and the password. 4.Press the key > Save. •To stop answering calls automatically when you remove your smartphone from the holster, change the Auto Answer Calls field to Never. •To end calls automatically when you insert your smartphone in the holster, change the Auto End Calls field to Into Holster . •To stop ending calls automatically when you insert your smartphone in the holster, change the Auto End Calls field to Never. 3.Press the key > Save. Personalize the display name for dual phone numbers If your SIM card supports more than one phone number, you can personalize the display name for your phone numbers to help with switching between lines. 1.On the home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon. 2.Click Device > Advanced System Settings > SIM Card. 3.Highlight a phone number. 4.Press the key > Edit SIM Phone Number. 5.In the Friendly Name field, type a display name for the phone number. 6.Press the key on the keyboard. Troubleshooting: Phone Some features aren't available on my smartphone The availability of certain features on your BlackBerry smartphone might be affected by items such as your smartphone model and wireless service plan. Depending on your messaging service plan, some features or options might not be available in the message options on the Email Preferences screen. If your email account is associated with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, your administrator might add IT policy rules to your smartphone that determine the features and settings that are available and whether you can add or update an app. If your administrator has turned off a feature or set an option for you, the option might not appear, the option might appear grayed out, or a lock indicator appears beside the option field. If your smartphone was previously associated with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server and your administrator hasn't removed IT policy rules from your smartphone, you can use the BlackBerry Desktop Software to remove the IT policy rules.
