13. DMX 13. DMX 13.1 About DMX data Overview DMXdataisavaluethatissentonaspecific channel to a specific DMX address. Only the device with that specific DMX address will recognize the command and will execute that command. Some adjustments consist out of 2 channels to update a setting. Thefirst channel of the pair provides coarse control changes, the second channel providesfine control changes. Some examples are ’pan’ and ’tilt’. 13.2 DMX settings DMX address Before a device can be used a DMX address must be assigned to that device That address can be any value between 0 and 512 and should be unique within an ArtNet universe. Image 13-1 DMX settings Click on the up down control of the spin box or click in the inputfield and enter the desired address with the keyboard. DMX mode 3 modes for DMX are available: • Basic mode which has currently 2 channels implemented. • Extended mode which has currently 10 channels implemented. • Full mode which has currently 9 channels implemented and a 10th free channel. Click on the drop down box and select thedesired mode. DMX universe Different universes can be defined so that more devices can be controlled. Each universe must have a unique address between 0 and 255. That unique address is built-up by a subnet and an ID. Both can be changed from 0 to 15 (or in hex value from 0 to F). The combination of both [(a) + (b)] gives a hex value in the lower rectangle (d) and an equivalent decimal value in the upper rectangle (c). 13. DMX Click Apply to make the new settings active. 13.3 DMX control via Sliders Adjusting a channel 1. First click onDMX sliderstabpage(1). (image13-2) 2. Click on a slider (2) and move up or down until the desired value is reached. Or, click in the inputfield below the slider (3) and enter the desired value with your keyboard. If a not allowed value is entered, the background changes to red. The DML will ignore this value. While adjusting the control or entering a allowed value, the DML reacts immediately. Image 13-2 DMX sliders When mowing the mouse over a channel, a tooltip becomes visible. This tooltip shows the possible values. 13.4 DMX tofile What can be done ? The current DMX settings can be saved in afile for future use. How to save the settings 1. Click on theDMXfiletab. (image 13-3) 2. Click on the Save icon (2). TheSavewindow opens (3). 3. 14. Update module 14. UPDATE MODULE Overview • Updating the projector •Versioninfo 14.1 Updating the projector A projector update must be done via an Ethernet connection. Checkfirst if the all version info can be retrieved before starting an upgrade. If not, use the recovery package in 2 steps to upgrade the projector. How to update 1. Select the projector in the preview pane. 2. Click onUpdate settings. Projector ID and serial number is given. 3. Click onUpdate nowto start up the update wizard. (image 14-1) 4. If the indicated folder (a) is not the location where the update package is stored, click on...(b) to open the browse dialog box and browse to the directory where the update package is stored. Click onOpen. The available packages are listed. - update package: use this package to upgrade the projector if the version info of the projector can be retrievedinanormalway. 5. Select the desired update (c) and clickNext(e). If you want to see more information about the update, click onMore information ...(d) to display the release info. Information will be retrieved from the projector. An overview will be displayed with the current software version next to the version in the update package. 6. Double click on the item that you want to upgrade. Multiple selection is possible by clicking on several items. ClickNextto continue. An overview with the selected items will be displayed. 7. ClickInstallto start the update. The connection will be prepared. A progress bar is displayed on the projector pictograph in the preview pane. The update window can now be closed. A new update of another projector can be started. To get an overview of the update status of a previous started update, double click on the pictograph of that projector. If you are not agree with the proposed location, browse to the desired location. If you want to change the name, enter a new name for the versioninfo. 3. Voltages, fan speeds and temperatures are red out as well as an indication about the lamp run time, lamp strikes and projector run time. Start up To start up the Diagnostics, click on the diagnostics icon () on the navigation button bar or click on Modulesand selectDiagnostics.
